A ground ball to first ends the game by the only TSU hitter to get a hit all day for them.

Texas wins 12-0 and the pitching staff gives up one hit in the double header. Two walks and an error were the only other TSU base runners all day.

That's it for the home season this year and it's on to Fort Worth in a Thursday, Friday, Saturday series against TCU to close the season.

Two slim options remain for Texas to reach the Conference Tourney and thats for TCU to lose one more of the two game at WVU and Texas to then sweep TCU.

The other is to win two more than Tech in their respective last conference series. Tech has a now struggling Baylor team in Lubbock next week.

They are both long shots to say the least, but that is the situation and at least it's some kind of shot.

To put this conference in perspective OU which had led the conference all season lost again to OSU today 4-3 and now has fallen into a tie for fourth place.

It's in the seventh at WVU and TCU leads 7-4.

TCU wins the second game 7-4 which means that WVU must win tomorrow to keep the TCU Conference Tourney option open

Let me preface this by saying I have absolutely nothing to base this on - quite the contrary actually. However, I have a gut feeling that if Texas gets into the Big XII tourney, the hitting will come around and they will make it to a super regional.

At the same time, I don't think they will be in the tourney. Go figure.

TCU pounds WVU today 16-6 to earn a trip to Bricktown.

That leaves the final spot to Tech or Texas with Texas needing some combination of two more wins against TCU than Tech against Baylor in the last conference series for each team.
