Trump's Team

Low cost labor from overseas accelerated automation.

Accelerated? So the real desire was simply to delay the inevitable?

Blue collar jobs certainly were losers in the game of global trade. In most cases they had overpriced skills that were easily replaced. Many others in the country benefited greatly from globalism. Aside from knowledge worker jobs, corporate America booned due to globalism. Yes, even those same manufacturing companies that automated workers out of jobs benefited greatly. That's why the "we were screwed" chants ring hollow. Simply put, if your desire 8s only to protect a certain type of worker than you too are socialist.

Overall, the US benefitted from global trade as we led the charge. Trading also had a strong benefit in national security with our trading partners

Btw- it wasn't just labor that was cheaper but materials too.

The market should determine the rate of automation, not politicians who sold out workers. How hard is this for you to understand?

It's naive to think trade associations weren't key participants in the trade deals. In other words, the market is the reason for global trade. Politicians and bureaucrats simply sign the deal.

They failed the workers too. You sound like someone who never foresaw a Trump win in 2016. Wait, you didn’t in fact foresee a Trump victory. You would think you would have learned something in 2 years. What’s going to be funny for you is that most of Trump’s policies will not end when Trump leaves the WH.

Not sure what viewpoint Lee Camp holds. I usually agree with half of what he says and vehemently disagree with the other half.

In this case, I think he is mostly right.
