mc,

Problem is that Florida is almost impossible to get in from out of state. As a member of both the Florida Foundation and the Florida Alumni Association, I follow their policies. Young lady graduating in top 5 (students not %) with 1400 from St Johns got wait listed at UF.

So aggy "rented" name to Qatar? It seems as though aggy got paid 75 to 80 mil a year. It never explains exactly how involved aggy is in the qatar center. Did aggy usa give money to qatar? or just cash check
There are 750 students at aggyqatar. It also shows a basketball game being played at aggyqatar web site.
Engineering Schools in Qatar - Engineering College | Texas A&M University at Qatar
I suspect they took courses either taught remotely or in person from aggy professors

aggy wanted to be able to brag they are an International University.

Wonder if they developed a shemagh & white robe version of the Corps over there? Complete with testicle grabbing and other weird traditions.

I didn't bother to look up those under the aggy "Flagship" .... and I may not have them all correct. Off the top of my head:

West Texas A&M
Sul Ross State
East Texas State U.
Texas A&I
Tarleton State U.
Prairie View A&M
Texas A&M - Qatar

^^^ for a short time Stephen F. Austin State U. was under the maroon cloud, but recently they were able to throw off that terrible yoke and are now a proud part of the UT System. :hookem:

If you can stand all the damn yankees. School is far from an Old South school. Without Bill Shenkr (sp) there, I wouldn't recommend it.
I had a perfectly good cousin ruined by UVA!! He graduated and just retired from there. He and his Ohioan wife are the self-isolated, leftist of his Texan family. Northern Virginia and UVA are the swamp.

Last time we talked, a year ago, he was eagerly awaiting another Texas Power Grid failure.:brickwall:

Wasn’t it Sam Rayburn, who declared he would never again, after retirement, travel north of the Potomac? I doubt he returned to Virginia either.

What? No, he didn’t say what I think he said.

Certain that Elko is merely repeating the chancellor's talking points. One could make a case for A&M to be the flagship. John Sharp has put the Aggie brand on every service, program, workshop, seminar that is associated with them in any way. The ag extension offices, volunteer firefighter training, disaster services ... every 4-hour meeting that has any ties to the Ags has been branded. Smart move. Texas Monthly article last year went into detail about Sharp boosting the school's image. But it's hard for serious academics who make these flagship designations and rankings to get past the corps,1950s traditions and general weirdness to think of it as a flagship. We've got the right stuff and more of it.
