Travis County DA arrested for DWI

She registered .239. Not sure her antics were those of sober person and probably made sense to her at the time.

I am sure that when some people attain power, they do not see themselves as citizen but rather above the rest of us.
If she does not resign, she should be removed but whatever system is in place to remove her.

Three times the legal limit is pretty **** faced. I'm surprised she could even stand up, much less drive a vehicle.

I know they found an open bottle in her car, but I wonder if she was drinking alone the entire time. I haven't really been following this closely, but I haven't heard of any particular bar she was at, or people she was with.

Someone who gets that drunk drinking alone often has some other serious problems underlying their obvious immediate condition.

Can't say I followed it to the detail, but the news reports said she had admitted to two vodka drinks, which corresponds to the bottle. But, in the video, she tells the judge in the jail that all she had was two glasses of wine at a movie. That doesn't account for the bottle. Is there an Alamo Draft house or the like in Lakeway? So, anyway, she probably had both kinds of alcohol, but may have been at something meeting other people. I would think people who drink alone are already at home, not out in traffic.

She apparently knew she had drunk too much and was in some trouble, because she was driving on the shoulder for a long time. I interpret that not as being too drunk to know the difference between the shoulder and a lane, but some thought process that I need to keep my speed low and hope to make it home without wrecking. In fact, she did not wreck, so that's good, and she gets partial credit for that.

So, it's a first time offense, no collision. Really, the story is just that she is a DA, multiplied by the fact that she acted like a horse's rear during the arrest and jailing. Just her arrest alone, even if she had acted entirely professionally during everything, would be a problem for that position, but my gosh she was as unprofessional as can be imagined, and acted all this out in the very arena that she needs to command future respect. I do not see how she can possibly keep this job.

Good that she had the sense to drive on the shoulder. The weaving into oncoming traffic must have been a temporary lapse in her otherwise good judgement. lol

That's pretty funny. She did lapse there. I'm in the group calling for her head; I was just trying to find something redeeming for her, and not crashing seemed to be it.
