SC and I like em big.
What NONE of you have mentioned is that SC's had two weeks to get ready for this game. That, to me, is the BIGGEST difference. You give Carroll two weeks to prepare and I think his teams look the best after a bye, when they've had time to get ready.
Also, forget Stanford. USC is damn near unbeatable at home. You guys REALLY think that Ohio State, who's had trouble in big games against the SEC, is going to come and take it from SC? In their house?
No.
Also, I'm not taking a Todd Boeckman-led team to win a big game like this one. One of those guys who will do well against teams more his speed, in the Big 11. But once he got to LSU, he was overwhelmed.
Then, of course there's Beanie. I just can't see tOSU being able to win the game by going through the air. That's not how Tressel does things. He wants to control the game on the ground, and play special teams and defense, so if Beanie's not there. He then has to rely on Boeckman to win him the game, which resets my previous point.
Speed, speed, speed, speed, speed. That's the final reason I'm taking SC big. Cosgrove played a Big 11 style defense last year against the speed of SC and it doesn't work. Not that his defense worked against most teams - but still, the fact that they ran a Big 11 style defense against SC and got smashed is my point.
