Top Chef ~season 5~

Solid episode.

I have a crush on Leah for some reason, so if anyone knows her, let her know that I'm available.

Eugene, just doesn't have it. I don't see it at all. And I don't see what the chicks see in Hosea.

Next episode looks hilarious.

Good episode tonight.

Not much to say about it. Eugene does have what it takes and for some reason, he is not using it.

I was really hoping the judges would eliminate Melissa tonight.

I also like Leah; I dig the tatoo on the back of her hand for some reason.

Jamie & Fabio are my favorites overall though.

i really thought the cahllenge was horrible. it is no wonder they got ****** food when they had to use such a ridiculous theme.

Programming alert: Next week at the usual Top Chef time there appears to be a holiday edition featuring chefs from past seasons. My TIVO season pass didn't automatically schedule it, so you might have to do it manually.

Good episode tonight... The right two probably went home; they have been near the bottom for awhile. The new judge will definitely add an edge that Gail wouldn't, although we do lose some in the chest department.

I initially wanted crazy Carla to get the boot, but it sounded like her dish had some redeeming value and Eugene's was just flat out bad overall (overcooked fish + bad pasta choice).

You know , up until now, I liked Carla. Today, she was going overboard. I dont' know if she just didnt' have a good explanation, was over compensating, or was going out with a bang, but she went bat crazy.

The thing I don't get is how everyone keeps complaining how Stefan is so overbearing. Not one of those guys has the ball to tell him to shut his face. Now, I understand that most of the time it's a collective effort, but Leah should have told him to shut the F up and do what she said. As far as Radhika goes.

I don't understand why she worked the front of the house. It was her restaurant and cuisine why wasn't she in the kitchen. She deserved to go home, and so did Carla with that BS explanation.

Stefan is the best chef on the show by what appears to be a considerable margin. I really think this has to be the worst talent they have ever brought in for this thing. Last year even was ten fold better than this bunch. I would go eat at Stefan's place, Fabio's and probably Jeff. The other to me seem to be pretty middle of the road.

Oddly Brian Cashman who is the executive chef at Reef IN houston went to the casting call for this season. His restaurant was just voted the best seafood restaurant in america, and he didn't make the cut but freaking Eugene, Radhika and Ariane did? uh.....fail.

I went to the Art Insitute of Dallas culinary program, and one of my instructors had a second call back to go on Top Chef. After getting to know him I don't think that he would have liked being there. He's an awesome chef, but I don't think he would have liked the BS that goes on in that place.

As far as them picking personalities over talent. I had a friend try out for American Idol a couple of years ago, and she said they were picking people who would look stupid on the bloopers reel instead of people who can actually sing. It's all about ratings.

If I would have been picking teams last night, I would have picked Fabio and Stefan first.

By the way Fabio had the best line ever on that show. "We could serve monkey *** on an empty clam shell, and we would still win. Because, I'm running the front of the house."

I was very surprised to see how that elimination challenge turend out. I would have pegged Carla's gumbo in 20 min as the most likely to fail. I thought Stefan would hav totally crushed veggie chick. I had a good feeling Fabio might lose a close battle. I think they got it right in eliminating Jeff. he seems a fine chef, but was never truly great or truly terrible.

1. Nikki is hot.
2. Did Josea call Miguel chunk?
3. Talent is getting diluted. Seriously.
4. Jeff, I considered the 3rd most talented.

See ya Jamie! I liked her early on, but you're going to look pretty bad calling Eric Ripert's food boring & then literally butchering it yourself.

Leah might be the luckiest contestant ever to get this far.
