title edit> Andrew Jones on the way back

Anyone else getting a Ric Barnes feeling?
-- Pretty good recruiter
-- A handful of NBA caliber one-and-dones to be subsequently proud of
-- Team plays hard
-- Offensively challenged
-- Not many great shooters and/or scorers

I feel like this held up
What do rest of you say now that we are out of the tourney?

Is it realistic at all to see him back next year? Honestly when I heard this, my first thought was that there's no way he could ever get back to playing at a college level, let alone play at an elite level. Obviously the first concern is just to get better and who cares if you ever play basketball again. But it sounds like there's some expectation that he might still be on the roster next year. That seems like something that would be unthinkable - but it would be amazing if it actually happened.

I don’t know where he’s at as far as if the cancer is in remission but I would think it depends on how the treatment goes. My brother had leukemia off and on for four years, given this was in the early 80s

minor stuff.
Unfortunately not minor with his recent medical history. Broken bones out of now where can be signs of serious cancer related issues or an issue with the body healing from those issues. Hopefully his medical team jumped on it as soon as they became aware.

That might be one of my proudest basketball moments last night. I had a feeling that Jones was just itching to get out there and make stuff happen. And honestly, the way our frontcourt played, we needed him to not just contribute, but to play well.

What a story.

I went to the Pig game in the NCAA tournament at Reunion, as well as when we won our first SWC tournament against the Aggies. And in Austin when we finally beat KU with Mihm/Muoneke and in SA when we cut the nets before going to the Final Four. Last night watching Jones made all of that stuff seem less significant.
