Titans Vs. Raiders

Young was 4 for 13. Kerry Collins was 4 for 15 on his passes. Don't these kind of stats tend to indicate that the problem isn't the quarterback(s)?

Hell based on stats Ingle Martin should be the starting QB:

The point about Bo Scaife being a significant part of the Titans' offense is telling. I agree, Bo was a great Longhorn and I will always admire his efforts to fight through multiple injuries, but come on . . .

No deep threat, no dependable possession type receiver and the starting running back averages 3.7 ypc...and the quarterbacks are the problem?

bunch of ninnies here with the spellchecks, etc. VY did not look good in this particular contest. it's the preseason, not much more than practice. come gametime, dude amps up and is a winner. I don't think that will change.

It's kind of depressing that a thread lamenting Vince's struggles (either self-induced or otherwise) in the NFL has turned out to be so chock full of humor.

As far as winning "despite" Vince last year, it's true defense and the running game were the strengths of that team, and quarterback play was not. But saying he's not an NFL QB is jumping to conclusions. He's looked good at times - he posted very solid numbers through the last half of the least season. He has no one to throw to. Bo Scaife is his best option, and he would be a #2 TE most places. The rest of those guys would be battling for a roster spot.

There were a number of times the ball just bounced out of his receiver's hands. I am absolutely certain he led the league in dropped passes. Some of his picks were deflected balls... some were bad routes... and some were on Vince.

I'm not saying he should have made the Pro Bowl, but he doesn't deserve to be thrown under the bus the way some of you keyboard tough guys are so inclined to do.

Why can't you just wait to see what he does over the next couple of years? Do you think you're going to get points for being the first to call hmi a bust?

I agree that VY has been dealt a bad hand by going to the Titans. I hate Tennessee, their owner and their storied abortion of a franchise. I was a die-hard Oiler fan until carpetbagger Bud ran for the hills. I have disliked them since.

I, like other UT fans wanted to see him come to Houston and was disappointed when they opted to go a different direction in taking Mario. I have since began to see what they were trying to build around. I do not think Vince is a bust nor a failure. I do not want to be the 1st to label him as such, and agree that their is nothing more than a glorified JV squad lining up with him on the offensive side of the ball. However, some on this board go the polar opposite in that they are excusing or justifying his bad play by placing all of the blame on the rest of the offense. He is responsible for his own play, not the play of the rest of his team. From what I have seen lateley of VY is that he is beginning to look uncoachable. After his last 4-13 with 30 something yards and a pick performance, his post game conference was embarassing to read. He is acting like a spoiled brat, and unfortunately a lot of our recent star players who have transitioned to the NFL are getting that stigma. The perception is that these guys are babied and coddled while on the 40 acres and once they make it to the NFL, they cannot handle criticism.

While I understand that the talent around him is terrible, Vince could do a lot to improve HIS skills. I wish him success in the league and do not want him to be looked upon as a bust. I just get tired of the VY apologists that defend his recent play with " he has no one around him" arguments.
