Time Warner vs KXAN

And Time Warner has officially taken KXAN off the air this morning...

I was wondering if they really did it or not. I have Grande so I had no way of turning tv on and finding out.
 
I am not a big TWC fan, but prefer cable to DSL. That said, I find myself in the unusual situation of back TWC completely. KXAN are a bunch of assclowns and they won't be missed.
 
That means KXAN just lost about 350,000 possible viewers. I am sure their ad revenue just nosedived about 75%.

That also means either KXAN will not survive or they will get it resolved quickly. No way they can make it under these conditions.
 
It's not KXAN, it's LIN TV, who owns KXAN. They have 15 stations in 11 Time Warner markets and are pulling this in all of them, including a Fox affiliate in Green Bay (think how those cheeseheads are gonna go nuts on Sunday, good for the sports bars though...). I think they're both a couple of babies, but definitely am on TW's side. Don't watch much network TV anyway, especially NBC, just "Heroes" with my son. I do watch KXAN's news, so I guess I'll be moving to KVUE...

i can live without KXAN/LIN, but NBC has some good shows.
 
rabbit ears... hdtv/digital ones work great. tried them last weekend just in case this didn't get resolved. they pick up the digital transmission.
 
Losing all of the Sunday night games does not sit well with me. And **** this rabbit ears ********, I want to see it in color and in HD.

Apparently they have been in negotiations for over a year but they didn't bother bringing the public up to speed until less than a week out as a scare tactic to TWC which backfired.
 
I was at a friends and saw that video on how to get it online. Hilarious. Glad I have another cable provider and don't have to worry about it. Though I don't watch anything on NBC I cannot watch elsewhere so no big deal. KXAN will come begging soon.
 
I use an antenna and get Austin locals in HD.

This battle was fought over NFL Network and TWC. And now KXAN. The next time another local station's contract goes up, what would you put the % that we see this again?
 
It depends on if KXAN gives in or not. If they don't and lose lots of revenue nobody else will do it.
 
What has TW turned this channel into? I'm watching Mee-Shee: The Water Giant, and Wubby's Big Movie! is about to start

I'm about to call and ask them to go back to the infomercial about connecting my computer to the TV
 
On a side note, I talked to TWC today and they said that they will get an NBC affiliate (maybe KXAN) back. They just couldn't give me an exact date, but said it should be pretty soon.

I hope...just signed up with TWC.
 
Well, KXAN's greed cost me being able to watch the game last night while I was at work. It's one of the only things I look forward to on Sunday nights while I'm stuck at work and they screwed me on it. Thanks LIN media, you bunch of sheep *******

TWC needs to grab another NBC, and fast... as in before Sunday fast.
