Time to scare the old folks

Unfortunately the old folks are going to have to come to reality at some point. Yes, I do blame the generation before me for leaving our country in the situation it is today. If they voted for Bush then it is their Fing fault that they are having to go work for Walmart at age 68 as a greeter.

Just like if they voted for Obama they should be damn lucky to even have a job at Walmart. In fact, The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported a net growth of only 18,000 jobs in June, and the unemployment rate reached 9.2 percent.

Using data from the BLS, the Heritage Foundation’s July 5 report documented that the current recovery is “the weakest recovery of the post-World War II era.”

“The recession officially ended in June 2009, but payroll employment remains 6.9 million jobs below its December 2007 peak,” states the report. “The average unemployed worker has been without work for 39.7 weeks (nine months) -- the longest since the government began keeping track in 1948.”

The real unemployment rate hit 16. 2 percent, affecting more than 25 million Americans. (The “real” unemployment rate is technically a combination of three measures of unemployment: the unemployment rate, the number of people working part-time who want full-time work, and the number of people “marginally attached” to the workforce.)

Great post, as usual, THEU. It is amazing that we elected a man about whom so little is known. Even more amazing is how few people even cared to know. Even old Joe Biden articulated that thought when he was running against him.

i applaud THEU for his candor, but wow, beyond that, i am at a loss for words.

(for a change)

Yo,
I don't understand really why you are at a loss for words. When a trusted friend tells you something, and their actions take a radical shift because of the information, don't you think you would pay attention to that?

Also, I know you are a person of faith. I don't expect non believers on here to believe in demons or that demons are real. As a Christian though, I am going to assume that you do believe that demons are real, and that they can effect and work through people even if those people don't know it.

I don't know if I would go so far as to say demons. Unfortunately, he has some extremely tainted ideas of reality that, I think, come from his primary "advisors" in life. We know about Alinsky and Wright. But I think his professors and others provided him a very strange idea of how the world works and he has no business experience or any other relevant real world experience to counter that.

As a result, our national debt has jumped over 50% on his watch in an extremely short amount of time, and the time to pay the band is coming up for all of us now.

I was speaking with a guy today who has a friend who doesn't believe in evolution at all and believes things were placed on earth exactly as they are. All evidence such as fossils and the jigsaw puzzle of the continents is disgarded.

Then this same guy who chastizes his friend tells me that he does believe aliens have visited the earth and brought man some of his greatest inventions, such as the pyramids. The point is that everyone has their intrinsic beliefs and that trying to change them is near futile. Such is life.

what he should do as well is claim that if they don't get a deal done, we'll have to shut down electricity at all the stoplights and send all our federal employees home without pay. That's equally true, he'll still not get called on it, and when it doesn't happen, he can take credit for "saving the country".

JohnnyM,
I believe that many people have demons possessing them. In fact, the latest poll I could find with a quick google of the matter was that 41% of Americans believe in demon possession. That study was done in 2001, so it was a decade ago. Not sure if it holds true today or if the number has gone up or down. I will look for a more recent study.
That means that a similar percentage that voted Bill Clinton president, believe in demon possession. It isn't some fringe belief as you would lead people to believe.
I know you don't believe in the spiritual life. My post wasn't directed to you, and I didn't think you would take it seriously if it were. This is why I was speaking to answer Yo.
Just so you know. I don't take anything you said personally either. You simply find it beyond rationale belief that someone who is a 'grown up' would believe in demons and demon possession. I guess there are a great number of us non grown ups out there.

EDIT: I found this quote in an ABC news article online.

"An August 2007 Pew poll found that 68 percent of Americans believe that "angels and demons are active in the world"; 20 percent say they've had an encounter with an angel or a devil."

Here is the link to the full article:

So I guess that I stand not with 41% of Americans, but with 68% who believe demons are active in the world today. Now, I am sure a MUCH MUCH MUCH smaller percentage believe any demon to be at work in Obama, and probably the number who believe that would be similar to those who believe demons and their power was at work through Bush.

JohnnyM,
May I remind or teach you about one thing that you might not be aware of which may make my statement seem either less or more absurd than you thought before. As a Christian I believe all people are evil. We are all totally depraved and bent towards evil at all times in our fallen nature. So me saying Obama is evil isn't as massive a statement as you might think.
I also am evil. I am what is wrong with the world. I am a totally depraved human being, and I am bent always at all times and in all ways towards evil. This is a historic and basic tenant of Christianity. It is not something nearly as far fetched or rare as you might believe.
Now, I should also probably state that I am not so sure Obama knows exactly what or who is working through him. I just know that as someone who attempts to be sensitive to the spiritual aspects of life, I find him to have evil coming from him.

I believe that many people are possessed by demons and influenced by demonic power. I believe Obama is one. Yes, this is true, and the best way I can state it.

I don't know if Obama is "possessed by a demon." I don't know if I am - my many faults that manifest themselves in the occasional poor choice and poor behavior could be explained by the figurative "demons." Don't know what to think about demon possession period. I view "demons" as not a physical presence, but basic personality / character flaws, some of which are immoral, but all result in behavior that has negative consequences.

With regard to Obama's presidency, I don't believe he is "evil" in the sense that Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, Sadaam, and even Chavez and Kim Jong Il are "evil." I do not think we've ever elected such an individual. I think Obama's problems are three-fold: 1) He's too much an idealogue; 2) He knows nothing of economics/business. 1 and 2 go hand in hand. He's a left leaning, big government attorney with no practical business experience. I think electing such types, frankly, will continue us on the path we've been on and is dangerous; and 3) He has become a true politician in the most negative sense of the label. Nothing is more evident of that than yesterday's statement about SS payments. It exhibits either his lack of understanding of the country's economic affairs or his willingness to be blatantly political. I suspect it's the latter b/c he is not dumb, but either way, I don't trust him.

He is a great orator with no substance because he doesn't have the expertise requisite to be a great leader in today's America. He has no business/economics background, and the economy is the #1 issue of the day. He has no military background, so his foreign policy cannot be as strategic as it needs to be. Of course, very few Presidents have the military background combined with the understanding of the country's economics / commerce. That is what advisors are for, but Obama has neither, and we are living in a time where one should be required. When it comes to listening to advisors, he is handicapped by surrounding himself with other like-minded idealogues, and is blinded in his actions by his left leaning big government ideology. But, he is not evil. So he's got that going for him, which is nice.

"This brinkmanship threatens the holders of government bonds and those who rely on Social Security and veterans' benefits," - Ronald Reagan 1987

While I don't think obama is the devil incarnate, I do think he only does what is best for his own self interests and really is not all that gungho about the good ol USA.

In my book, the ONLY good thing he has done since coming into office is giving the go ahead on killing osama, other than that all his actions are crap!
