Thornhill To Closer

As I was hearing and now confirmed Nathan Thornhill will assume the closing role for the Texas staff.

Lukas Schiraldi will take his spot as the Sunday starter in the pitching rotation.

Also John Curtiss and Ty Marlow are making steady progress to get back into action.

Taylor Stell, according to twitter is having some type of surgery done. It didn't specify what type.

Sure hope he closes out better than what he showed against Pan Am. Faced 14 batters and allowed 6 base runners in 3 innings, ouch! Your closer shouldn't be averaging nearly 5 batters an inning and allowing 2 base runner per frame. Those are blown save stats, aside from not allowing the run. Lucky it was Pan Am is all I can say.

Thornhill is not yet an ace closer. It is only march 1, so he has some time to grow into the role. If Augie does not see him growing into the role, coach will need to try someone else. Sadly, H. Street is not walking through that door.
