The Walking Dead

the preview said that france is the last one to fall to infection. i call bs, france is always the first to fall in any scenario

OK, that's different. So the staff writer position
was casually killed off like one of the zombie
extras. A little ironic. I wonder what they might
say when they bump into Greg Davis?

Did they get a "bullet" to the brain???? Maybe they can be walk-on extras.

Man, tough town-----------pen a hit series then get fired when renewed.

This doesn't sound great but then they are writing from an existing script so if they are sticking to the books and just beefing 'em up a bit, I guess new writers would be OK. Seems quite odd to make this change when the show appears to be very successful.

Bring on the Gov!

MINOR SPOILER

Well, it is set up for next year. Now I am dying to know what the scientist whispered to Sheriff Rick. He had an odd look on his face...

The whisper -- same thing Bill Murray said to Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation?

Satisfying ending -- a big explosion. And a good explanation of what happened with Rick in the hospital via flashback. A couple minor complaints -- (a) the crack about fossil fuels (if only we had more windmills, everyone would be saved); and (b) the French bravely held out until the end while the Americans cowardly committed suicide to avoid reality? Seriously, the French? (Well, they do have the nuke plants although I dont know if this was what they were reaching for there).

Season Two is not due to air until next Halloween. Seems like a long way off.

Also apparently the character Michonne will appear much sooner than in the comic. She chops down zombies with a sword. So that should be good.

Yah I have a couple issues with this episode. Leastly, the windows of all the vehicles should have been broken in an explosion like that wouldn't they?

Only one person stays behind in an impenetrable CDC facility that has food, beds, A/C, hot water? Highly unlikely in my book. Sure, some people would prefer not to go on, but all but one? I just didn't like how they finished off this season with the CDC blowing up because it ran out of power.

Also, the sister of the girl who got bite basically had her sister's blood all over her hands. Isn't it possible for bacteria/virus to get in between the fingernails?

"Yah I have a couple issues with this episode. "

How about them not scavenging weapons and fuel from all the dead soldiers and abandoned military (and civilian) vehicles? And since when is Atlanta the only city in Georgia? Doesn't every town in the south have at least one sporting goods/gun store?

He whispered, either:

1) sister (the one who cared enough to wait till little sister turned into a walker before blowing her head off)- Is infected

or

2) Wife is pregnant

I watched a few episodes in the big lead up to the finale. I really wanted to like the series- it has a lot of interesting features. However, the same problem that plagues nearly all horror films shows up here: I want the protagonists to be ******* devoured. So does Charles Darwin. If you behave in a phenomenally stupid way, you deserve to be devoured. That's how it has always been.

So when I look at the "fearsome" zombie horde, the first thing that I think is, "Tallahassee would have a field day with this ****." The thought lingered around the back of my mind until the scene with the tank, at which point it jumped to the forefront and stayed there. The fact that the survivors didn't find some flamethrowers and squad support weapons and clear the city pretty much ruins the series for me.

These aren't Resident Evil or 28 Days Later zombies: those guys should cause you to flee. No, these are the Thriller variety. You systematically **** their **** up with automatic firearms and area weapons and enjoy your life of beach front property and free hydroelectric power. That's why they can't show the zombie outbreak: there isn't a plausible way for the lumbering zombie crowd to overrun anything, much less a dug-in infantry position with air, tank and artillery support.

I like a lot about the show, but in the end it just leaves me disappointed. Some day, somebody will do this thing right, because there is a ton of promise in the genre. Thus far, RE, 28 Days Later, and NotLD are probably the best in film despite glaring flaws. However, the greatest zombie apocalypse story isn't a film at all (hint: released 2001).

^^^^^^

I vote for #2 and since the Sheriff has not been with her long enough (my guess) to get her pregnant and have it show up in a blood test.......oh the tension with this scenario............

I'm a walking Spoiler so I'm going to keep my fingers from typing. Only thing I'm going to say is... Halloween 2011?!? Un FRAK ing believable!!! I was thinking turn of the year at the worst.

Good Lord. Choke.

Great show. Buddy of mine turned me to it so I watched all 8 episodes....only wanting more now! Can't wait till next Fall for this to continue....

Okay, so I watched the television series and decided to read the graphic novel. I'm not a 'comic guy' -- never was -- but I'm hooked. I read Vol. 1 & 2 and have since ordered Vol. 3 & 4.
The show has followed pretty closely that of the book, only deviating in some aspects.

***SPOILERS***

The wife is pregnant, if the show tracks the books. Also, Shane has already been off'ed by this point in the story.
