The Summer of 1975 - was 35 years ago...

I saw Jaws in Austin with a local girl somewhere close to campus... we stood in line for approx. 2 hours but it was worth it.

The 1975 ou game WAS a heartbreaker - no TV - ou on probabtion for cheating... imagine that! I couldn't go to the game that year so I listened on the radio. Final was 24-17. Horns had 4 fumbles & 1 Int if I recall. ou did not score until late in the 4th to win it.

Admiral question about what happened to Pam... kind of a long story and I won't say too much here other than she truly had it all & was the ONE, but I messed it up...

The summer of '75. I had been married for three yrs. Working on producing Shark Jr. (He arrived in the summer of '76).

Living in Pittsburgh, PA and running my Dad's newspaper operation of a small daily and 11 weekly newspapers while watching the steel industry die in front of me. Actually the Homestead Works of USSteel was a block behind our newspaper building.

Was really looking forward to the Ohio State juggernaught Woody had put together with Archie Griffin leading the way. Man, those were great teams.

I was six years removed from my tour in Vietnam and in many ways still trying to adjust to being a civilian. I used the GI Bill to get my commercial pilot's license with airplane/helicopter/instrument ratings. Did a lot of flying between Pgh and Ohio in a Cherokee Arrow. Took my wife on her first helicopter ride (the only one with me as her pilot).

For the most part, a really good summer.

That's the year I graduated from high school. We're going to to have our 35 year reunion in October. Anybody know how to lose 25 to 30 pounds in 2 months?

Shark, are you familiar with the BBC documentary on Woody Hayes shot in circa '77? I saw it on ESPN classics several years ago and was enthralled. It was a real upclose and personal account of his running the football team. Made you understand why he was so revered by his players.

I remember going to see Jaws [shiver] and being unsuccessful at winning CSN&Y tickets on one local radio station. Only time I ever tried that. "Carry On" was our senior theme.

I graduated from high school that May and spent the summer working for my dad in the family greenhouse, getting ready to go off to U of Illinois in August. That was a transition! My high school had about 1000 kids in it, 220 or so in my graduating class.

U of I was absolutely huge and I knew absolutely no one! Back then they did not have all the doings for parents that they do now. My parents just dropped me off at my dorm, helped me carry my stuff up, took me to lunch and then left. I spent the next two days walking around campus a lot, just exploring, trying to figure out where everything was.
