The real reason the Rangers Suck

Don't doubt either of your points but we have unloaded nothing but young pitching over the last couple of years that wasn't good enough to make our rotation but seems to be just fine elsewhere. To me that is just flat out a ridiculous job managing of talent especially when the crap you roll out in the bigs sucks ***.

that's what you get when a former d-3 spare baseball player is the director of minor league ops.

I am surpised that people are actually surprised or amazed when the Rangers fall on their collective faces.

Look at their history....
The owners have changed.
The general managers have changed.
The managers have changed repeatedly.
The players have changed.
The uniforms have changed (seemingly annually)
The stadium has changed.
The only thing that has NOT changed is their losing ways.

The Florida Marlins.. the MARLINS have won more playoff games in ONE series, than the Rangers have won in their entire history (since their move to Arlington).

What possible reasons exist to believe that this legacy of losing will change?

Quite frankly, the Rangers are an organization without a soul.. without a heart and merely take up sports news when nothing else is going on.

I am actually rooting for them to lose now. They are almost to the point of being comically bad. The more they lose, the more people we get rid of out of the organization.

the rangers went into det to battle it out for the worst team in the AL and I think they've done their job in helping everyone figure it out.

Does anyone ever go out to the ballpark anymore?

I have a co-worker who buys a season ticket mini-package every year, but he seriously can't give non-Redsox/Yankees tickets away.

I checked the average attendance figures and so far they are averaging about 25K/game (but this is inflated by opening day numbers)

The saddest thing, based on the few games I've watched this year, is that it appears the players don't care about the losing...that being a well-paid pro baseball player is good enough for them. As a fan, it's tiresome to root for a team that year after year is easily out of the race at the all-star break or soon afterwards.

The All-Star Break? I just wish they were still in contention by the time the Byron Nelson rolled around.

I didn't think it was possible to trump the giant turd the Rangers laid in the spring of 2007. However, Ron Washington and this Rangers team has completely redeemed my faith in the ineptitude of this organization.

This team is horrible....All teams and players need who are struggling is to face the Rangers---plain and simple.

Big Papi was struggling mightily this year---not after the Rangers left town.
Justin Verlander was struggling mightily---not after the Rangers left town.
The Detroit Tigers were close to the Rangers for having the worst record--not after the Rangers left town.
Whoever is struggling for the Twins right now is likely the most excited guy in baseball b/c he knows he is about break out of a slump in a big way.

I know the real reasons the Rangers suck: I checked early in the game and they're behind 5-1. But, at halftime of the Mavs game I decided I would watch the R's game...surprisingly they're tied 5-5, R's are batting and they've had something like 6 straight hits...Blalock's on 2nd, and Botts laces a double to RF...and Hank is thrown out at home and Botts is out at 3rd trying to stretch the double...thus, while I'm watching, 2 consecutive doubles and a double play with no runs scored.

I took blame last year, and I'll continue to take blame this year.

The answer is the same that it has been for decades... the P word - PITCHING. The second word is LEADERSHIP... something the Rangers have also lacked for years.

Nolan Ryan and the Ranger braintrust are supposed to be meeting Sat. or over the weekend about changes that must be made to the struggling stRangers. I suspect that Ron Washington will be let go and the Rangers will announce Billy Martin is coming back

^WorsterMan, I've tried every mojo recipe you and I ever used - no luck. This bunch of Rangers is mojo-proof. I'll be interested to see what Nolan and Jon come up with. It's becoming apparent that Ron is not the answer. Maybe they can get Jimmy Dugan to come manage these girls!

In reply to:

"Maybe they can get Jimmy Dugan to come manage these girls!" LOL!

Yeah HHD, you have worn out your Mojo receipes trying to bring life to this team.... What we need is cooler temps in July - August to lure better pitchers to come to Arlington... or maybe a domed stadium? idunno?

all i have to say...

i still lovem....and ill still watch them...you guys arent fans in my book

and i completely disagree about Kinsler, i really like what he brings/can bring to the table

lastly, yes BB is worthless, lets please see what Botts and Salty can do batting everyday

Salty can play DH/C/1B
Botts can play LF/1B/DH

lets givem a chance and tell BB to move to china

is the 'true' rangers fan above:

A) Zonk
B) 'Rangers Captain'
C) Tom Hicks
D) the potentially retarded guy 'R Rowdy' that used to play the fake fiddle during the cotton eyed joe in the bleachers

not sure it's 100% ron washington's fault. they sucked under buck and they sucked under wash. i think the players are at fault for a big part of this.

Anyone have ESPN Insider? The Hardline was discussing Buster Olney's writeup of the Rangers today and it sounded brutal. One anonymous coach/scout was quoted as saying "this looks like a team playing out of control."

I went to ESPN and of course Olney's blog requires an Insider subscription.

botts sent down for c shelton. now that's ******* brililant. botts is out of options and while he is hitting ****** this year you are going to risk losing him over a sample of 38 ABs? It's not like B Broussard is lighting it up or that Shelton is going to be here long term. why they are risking losing botts over nothing is ridiculous. stupid *** ******* rangers.
