One can only hope.I'm sorry, but there aren't any coaches out there that are that dumb.
I still think Gibbs got hosed by ou. When Switzer was tossed amid the scandal, Gibbs was told "Clean this mess up and get us off the front page - we'll worry about Wins and Losses later." He did exactly what was asked of him - then was fired for losing. Apparently ou fans will forgive rapes and shootings in the dorm and a QB dealing drugs. They'll forgive the coach for sleeping with an assistant's wife and driving the assistant off. What they won't forgive is losing to Texas and Nebraska - so they ran Gibbs out.Gibbs, Schnellenberger, Blake, and Stoops
Barely lost to us in '99, and we know about 2000...Blake had all RBs, no WRs, otherwise Stoops beats us his first year. I do not remember ever seeing a team with more stone-hands than Stoops first team. I'm surprised Mike Leach wasn't committed that year.
Other than the score typo, couldn’t have said this better myself. My sentiments exactly. And yet, I rather enjoyed it when OU gave aggy that 72-0 thrashing ... I wasn't rooting for them, mind you. Just enjoying the spectacle. (like watching two steam locomotives crash into each others, I guess.)

Except one steam locomotive completely flattened the other one that day, barely noticed the collision, and kept right on going.Other than the score typo, couldn’t have said this better myself. My sentiments exactly.
I searched for a .gif that reflected that but was unsuccessful.Except one steam locomotive completely flattened the other one that day, barely noticed the collision, and kept right on going.
