Perham: no it hasn't under these circumstances. Iraq's nuclear plant was not as well protected as the ones Iran is supposed to be building.

Re war powers: sweeping the question under the rug is no way to run a democratic republic. The War Powers act was passed in reaction to viet nam. It requires notification and authorization afterwards when the president uses military action. I don;t think it would apply to a situation where the president commits us to a full fledged war such as would be required in an attack on Iran.

Anybody care to weigh in on the question about Iran's sovereignty? Does a sovereign nation not have the right to protect itself?

As for Ahmadinejad, he has two more years on his term and he is over. He has lost favor with the actual rulers and will not be re elected.
 
This whole "Iran is not like other countries" nonsense is laughable. You guys are just looking for excuses for why we should attack them, but its ok that we dont attack China or Russia or North Korea, or Pakistan, or India...... blah blah blah.

Iran "might" do something, so lets turn them into a glass parking lot. Listen to yourselves. Might? Maybe? Possibly?

We freaking made Iran into the anti-American country that they are. Its our fault they hate us, for screwing them in '53 and installing the Shah. We made them. We incited their theocracy. And we dont take any blame for it.

Iran is a sovereign country that is tired of the US constantly screwing with it. We are no better than they are. Our government is no better than theirs. So, lets leave them alone, get the hell out of the Middle East, and let those people take care of themselves. We allow our bankers to screw people all day long, left and right. We are not any more moral or just than they are, so dont even talk about human rights or morality.

Of course, Israel has us bent over nice and good, so we have to bow down to them and do what they tell us, because our crazy Christian Right wants to bring about the end of the world, and the only way it can happen is by supporting Israel.

We are bat **** crazy as much as people want to say Iran is.

Israel receives money and aid from the US, and has for decades. Israel hasnt had dictators or thugs oppressing its people for decades. To try and compare Israel to other Middle Eastern countries is wrong. You cant compare them. Israel supported Mubarak because he kept his people down...

What we need in the Middle East, is to leave, and not interfere in their affairs like we have for the last 60 years.
