Besides, pigs are just about the smartest animal out there, which always caused me a problem that a school ranked so far down the USNWR rankings has the smartest mascot, not to mention the animal most suitable for organ transplants.

- LSU's new uniforms. Don't get me wrong, yellow and purple is bad. But why mess with tradition?

Maybe they thought new unis would bolster attendance for the first game and fans would flock in to see the new duds. Generally doesn't work though.

I was there for DKR's last game. When he and Broyles left the field at the end, it was the end of an era in Texas football and the rivalry was never quite the same.

HIdeo Gump and I were on the field after the game with stolen bed sheet that read..."UT is looking to begin a new Ara". Rumors were swirling that UT would hire Ara Parsegian. After the Austin political war on the coaching hire was over, Fred Akers was hired. It was a good move, but the DKR era was over.

Interesting. I'm watching the recording, and few minutes ago I heard Keith Jackson ask Parsegian a question using his name. I hadn't known he did commentating. I'll have to listen to see if any mention is made of that.
