The Democrat's War on Women

Just as Rosen shouldn't have criticized Ann Romney, neither should Mitt have presented his wife (qua working mother) as being a key voice in economic policy.

Per?
" as being a key voice in economic policy. "

What exactly did Romney say that led YOU to believe ann is a 'key voice" in economic POLICY?

provide a link of his words that you think support what you posted

His is a valid point that you obviously don't get (probably because you're so deep)

Dems are supporitng the postion taken by cons in 2008 when they defended Sarah Palin for hiring people to take care of her special needs child while she sought fame and fortune outside of the home.

Corckett?
what does this mean?
" Republican-dominated Legislatures around the country try to take control of a woman's impregnated uterus"

I am not doubting you, I am asking since i don't know what you mean.

Glad you asked Horn6721. In Oklahoma they passed a law that declared a zygote a person worthy of state protection at conception. This would mean, for example, that a "morning after" pill would not be available to a woman who was the victim or rape, incest or simple bad judgement in men. I guess we all know about the "wand" insertion that was going to be mandated in Virginia before that backed off a national firestorm and require only abdominal ultrasounds required in Texas. There are the national and state attacks on Planned Parenthood, which in Texas have stripped a lot of resources available for women's health.

I'm not really an expert about how women feel, though before my last two marriages I thought I was a sensetive and empathetic guy. Sadly enough, I am a lot more empathetic than the average Republican politiican these day. I can promise you if I were putting together a senate panel of a dozen experts on religious liberty vs. insurance coverage of contraception for women I'd not have a panel that completely excluded woman. The robot in my head would go off start waving his arms wildly and say "Danger Will Robinson -- danger danger."

The Daily Show link I provided above and which I'll repeat here had a hilarious and insightful bit that dealt with a suggested amendment to the Oklahoma law that would make men responsible for wasted semen. The Link

PH -- Have you noticed that Obama, numerous other Democrats and the woman who initially insulted Mrs. Romney have either criticized the remarks or apologized?

dehienman -- I think your proposed compromise is reasonable -- but reason and the abortion issue go together like enchiladas and strawberry jelly. The issue excites the conservative base and when they win power they can't resist taking action. Then they run up against the fact that even though a majority of Republicans have a pro-life position it's not the majority of the population and protecting reproductive freedom has some talented and passionate political supporters. The end result is conservatives spend a lot of political capital and lose ground with moderates and independents that disipates their strength before they can make headway on the rest of their agenda.

I think if Republicans are smart they will try to get their women leaders out front and talking on these issues. The visual of rich old men, decidedly tone deaf on genunie concerns of fertile women, making policy decisions on morals that won't cost them anything is not the visual the party needs. Moralizing and being judgemental without having skin in the game (like having to bear an unwanted child who may have severe handicaps as diagnosed in the womb or embryos that are the result of rape, incest or drunken sex with strangers) is not the visual you want going with this story.

Personally, I have a lot of conflict and don't feel dishonest when I say I am anti abortion but pro choice. I've seen situations where the "adults" in a situation counseled abortions, the child was taken to term and a marvelous life begun. Knoxville Horn has told the personal story of his daughter on this message board and if you were untouched as you read it you have a hard heart. I've supported charities that approached abortion from the standpoint of being as helpful as possible to young women dealing with unplanned pregnancies. I just don't want to go back to the days of back alley abortions with coat hangers or forcing women against their will to bear the hardship of bringing a baby to term if they have made a reasoned and informed choice and the baby would not be viable outside the womb.

Satchel -- sorry for the ambigous wording. The President criticized the remaks, as did others in his campaign heirarchy. The woman who made the remarks apologized.

With all due respect PH, if we start attacking people for what we think they think we're likely to veer off into nonsense.

Well the usual suspects are here. Boy, you Repubs and Dems are jumpier than a cat on a hot tin roof! It's amazing what passes for news on the MSM today and how easily it stirs up the populace into crying foul over each of said political parties purported beliefs. Or is it just politics as usual?

Personally, I think Abortion is an abomination. I think in certain circumstances a women should have the right to proceed with the procedure. I do not think that a single dollar to should go to the procedure from Federal funds. If a state wants to provide some assistance to low income individuals that is up to the state and local government, but no Federal Funds.

I think it is hilarious how this idiot from the democrats just put Ann Romney in front of the American public, what an incredible and inspirational women, thank you Hillary Rosen for bringing her to my attention!!!
