The beauty of baseball...

I enjoy baseball more when the Horns are winning, just like everyone else on here.

However, at least for me, the beauty of baseball is the beauty of the game itself. The fact that we can appreciate a great play by the opposing team or an opposing player, and will acknowledge that during a game we might otherwise be losing, is a grand thing.

Football? Not even close.

Looking forward to the fall games already.

I was watching the Rangers game Sunday and have a good idea of what you mean. Miguel Cabrera, hitting about as well as a hitter can hit, clubbed three homers. The last came against Tanner Scheppers, a pitcher who is pitching about as well as a pitcher can pitch. Cabrera took an inside fastball and put it over the center field fence. I admired the hit as an incredible physical feat and didn't mind because Scheppers had a lead and got three outs on about a dozen pitches.

Well said, notnative. I am not a Baseball first guy but I have friends that are. They love the hell out of Football season but truly yearn for Baseball. It hurts to lose and it's not fun but the good fans, the real fans continue to support. They want things to change but not having the definite answers, choose to not act out like children on a teet.

I applaud your post and consistent fandom, for what it's worth.

Don't credit fandom only to those that say, keep the status quo. The status quo is embarrassing at this point. How can Texas not have enough talent, recruiting and good coaching to finish AT LEAST 8th in a poor Big 12?

I'm a UT grad from the 80's so I've seen plenty of Texas baseball, good and bad, and any UT fan has the right to ask the question, "Isn't it time for a change"? My answer is yes, it's time.

The problem with most of the people that yell, scream and pout for change is they take the negative out of everything. When something goes right, they shut up and go away. But man when something goes bad, just another feather in their cap. These are games, young amateurs are playing these games they will make mistakes, the ball will take a funny hop. You want change great, now is the time to decide, evaluate the last 5 years, the current team, the outlook of the next years team, the next 5 years and then make a rational professional decision.

It was almost like the fire them all people are rooting against Texas so that everyone will be fired.

I surround myself with a team of optimistic people. If they see a problem they come up with a solution before they announce the problem. They announce the problem and their solution.

If someone on the team sees a problem and blurts it out, they are promoted to Project Manager lead for that problem.

I am fortunate that everyone on my team understands that and they recognize problems and they enjoy working the solution and then presenting the problem with the solution. These people are much smarter and wiser than I, that is for sure.
