Thanksgiving in Vegas

Two seconds left, Febres makes a Ft; misses the second. NC calls TO. ONE Second left; Hayes knocks the inbound pass down, Horns WIN.

Gotta give Shaka and the players a ton of credit!! I did not think they could beat NC. But they f'g did! :hookem3::hookem2::hookem2:
Good Job Texas.
Way to come ready to play and win.

Damn, that was a quality win. Hopefully we can add a second one tomorrow. Yes, the announcers were so starved for clever descriptors they resorted to utterances like "You rarely see a Roach fly that high".

From watching on TV, crowd sounded VERY burnt orange.

When they made their run at end, the place got suddenly loud with whatever song it is they sing

But, yeah, tons of Texans in Vegas over T-Giving sounds about right, cha-ching

Snoop seems like he really, really enjoys playing basketball.

Reminds me a bit of TJ, frequently flashing his big, toothy smile, enjoying being out on the court and doing his thing.

This team, also, seems to developing a bit of chemistry. Could see it last night, O consoling a fellow player after committing a dumb foul, grabbing him, patting him on the back and head, talking to him.

This could be a fun year.

Lots of Horns out here in Vegas, although the crowd at the game yesterday was 2/3 NC fans. You could tell they just thought they’d make a run and win, and were totally stunned when they couldn’t. Roach was amazing, that poster dunk brought cheers from 90% of the crowd.

Playing with house money today, one win in Vegas was always going to be huge and they got it first night so no pressure tonight as they got win they needed for NCAA tourney resume. Would be huge to get another big win today for seedings etc come March.

I think aliens came to earth and took over the bodies of our players
Anyone have a better explanation?

This is an unfortunate reality check. We've been outscored 30-12 in the second half up to this moment. Wow...

The Texas shooting woes of the first four games has shown up here in second half. Still successful trip to Vegas but missed opportunity tonight after great first half.

Kind of weird how the Horns seemed to play down to the competition in the first four games. Hope that trend doesn’t continue, but won’t be surprised if it does. Unsure why Smart didn’t give Heppa a shot at knocking down some threes in the end. Love what Jackson Hayes has been bringing. And I wish Jacob Young would have stuck around.

Ouch, that second half was tough to watch in person. You could feel the momentum shift when MSU started drilling threes, and then the lid went on the bucket for us. The crowd was about 80% for MSU, all the UNC fans were vehemently rooting against the Horns. Basically a home game atmosphere for the Spartans.

I don’t know if it was because we beat UNC, or came out so hot, but you’d have thought MSU was beating Duke, from the reaction of their fans in the second half- it was like they had just won a final four game.

1-1 in Vegas wasn’t bad, considering the competition. Just hope we find some way to get out of these 5-8 minute scoring droughts.

Well, you know who TV was hoping would be in the championship game and I wish I could have been in Vegas too

Appropriate the Meatchicken State game was in Vegas.

Texas up early, running hot, winning every shot, then .... goes cold, losing, losing, losing, until you lose it all back ... kind of like casino slots.
