TEXAS VS WASHINGTON- GAME THREAD

UW can't stop our run game. We need to control the game in the second half with the run and wear them out.

On the flip side, PK better dial up some effective pressure on Penix. If we accomplish both we win.
 
Can we play pass defense? That is the question. No sacks. No pass break ups. Hopefully we can turn that around, but it won’t be easy. No one can cover those WRs one-on-one.

If safety is our weakness, maybe D Williams will be a difference maker.

It feels like Washington is better and we are just hanging in there.

we are going to have to score every time. So we need aggressive play calling and some well timed Ewers runs.
Don't handoff after a missed first down pass. call an audible.
do we ever audible? is it allowed?

Nope. I think we have been hugely outplayed thus far and yet here we are, 21-21. I don't think they can stop the run. I think Sark made a huge mistake with his play calls after the fourth down stop when it was 14 all. It was our time to take over the game. Instead he went long to Worthy who wasn't remotely open. Pound it down their throat.

Problem is Penix is sooo much better than Milroe right now and his receivers are also better. I think we will have to rush five and try to keep Everything in front of them and force field goal or get fourth down stops
 
I don't know what the answer is for our pass rush but maybe instead of trying to tackle Penix, try to tip his passes. I think that is what is happening to Ewers and has been effective.

We seem to be trying to get the tackle and Penix just slips to his left or right and throws a perfect pass.

It sure is frustrating for me. I can only imagine how the d-line feels.
 
Some of the husky fans are as bad as OU or Ohio State’s! They were crying over losing four yards on the obvious late hit on Ewers yet they hadn’t been flagged all half up until 30 seconds left. Ridiculous! We would have scored easily without the penalty too!

The intermediate game has got to be open.
 
We need to simply feed #4 and #23 the ball until they stop it. Take time off the clock. Nothing wrong with 3-4 yards a run and we are knocking down 8-10. We don’t need a lot of 40 yard passes. Keep it simple

Oh. The refs sucking!
