Texas vs TT

between picking up 2 worthless fouls on the perimeter to give them 4 free throws, mason's ridiculous technical (what was he even arguing? calm the F down), tech getting about 5 rolls in a row on their shots (including the banked in 20 footer), and us turning it over and missing free throws and easy shots, that was about the most frustrating 8 minutes i can ever remember.

19-7 run to finish the half for this weak tech team.
 
Did we just miss 10 shots in a row? A while ago we were 15/35. Next thing I know, we're 15/45. We're working on a 20-point half.

this is why it was always hard to think of us as a #1 seed. our downside is just too much bigger than the other top teams. we're getting worked by tech and it doesn't even look surprising or like tech is having to play out of their minds. we're just playing so terribly. unbelievably bad defense and outside shooting are combining for our worst game of the year.
 
this might be the stupidest play i've ever seen.

the number of touch fouls we have committed far away from the basket in the 1 and 1 to give them free throws in this game is staggering. and doing it while tech isn't even touching rim on their free throws. and while the refs are willing to call every touch foul on us while augustin gets his arm ripped off with no call.

and while james has pretty much sucked every step of the way except on the boards.
 
They've attempted 25 free throws to our 9??? 3 fouls on DJ in the last couple of minutes? WTF is going on here???

Abrams is the only one carrying Texas. For those in the thread that took Augustin over TJ Ford, I hope you are watching this game
 
Don't even dare blame the refs for the free throw disparity. We've shot 22 threes! It's OUR fault that we're note getting FTs.
 
Down by 12 with 3 minutes to play. I think we're about to kiss any chance of going to Houston goodbye. We probably could have afforded a (non-early) loss in the conference tournament, but a 2nd bad loss to a non-Tourney-worthy team should kill any chance of being seeded high enough to earn Houston over Memphis.
 
Yeah this is looking pretty bad. What will they receive now? I am thinking 2 seed, and they may drop more if they play this way again. Pretty unimpressive performance today, especially at home...
 
Huh? Dropping from a #1 seed to a #2 might actually HELP our chances of being in Houston. Memphis will probably be the #1 there.
 
Duke and UNC were losing big too and look how that turned out. Things are volitile now on the national collegiate basketball landscape. Sorry, that was my one Bob Costas moment for the day.
