Stanford makes two great plays in the 2nd to rob us
of hits and we go down in order.

French settles down and gets Stanford in order in the
bottom half.

Stanford leads 2-0 after two innings.

Stanford leads off with a double and then a single, but Stanford doesn't score with a base running mistake by the lead runner on a ground ball.

Still Stanford 2-0 after six innings.

We have no clue against Appel right now as he strikes
out the heart of our order and the side in the 7th.

He has a dozen K's now and Stanford retains their
2-0 lead into the stretch.

First Stanford batter check swings a slow roller to Hinojosa who throws it away allowing the runner to
second.

A sac bunt moves him to third with one out. French gets out of it on a ground ball and a foul
pop up.

To the top of the 8th Stanford 2-0 over Texas.

McLeroy doubles with two outs to become the first Texas runner in scoring position. Marlow pinch hits
for Hall and grounds out to second.

Bottom of the 8th and it's still 2-0 Stanford and French is done and Ty Marlow comes in to pitch
the bottom of the 8th.

Walla moves in to centerfield now.

Marlow gives up a one out walk, but a 6-4-3 dp gets
the Horns out of the inning and to the 9th Stanford leads 2-0.

Appel out for a go at the complete game shutout..

Monihan leads off with a Texas League single to short
center. Shaw ph's for Stell and becomes K #14 to tie
a career high.

Weis hits into a 4-6-3 dp and that's it. Stanford wins
2-0 with all their runs in the first inning.

Struggling hitting meets great pitching and the outcome was as expected. Tough luck for French
who only gave up six hits, but gets the loss.

Three hits for Texas and 14 strike outs and two errors and it did us in again against Stanford who has won 4 straight now against us.

Appel just dominated us for the second straight year and gets the complete game shutout win.

Family obligations last night so no chance to follow along, tough read. This Texas team is relying on perfect pitching to win but even perfect pitching cant win if you dont score any runs.
