17,000. I’m an optimist.

Just for comparison purposes I went back and looked up the most attended game Ive been to in person and it was the UCONN game in 2018 when they were number 1. The listed attendance on that game was 11,800. It was a Monday night game. The place rocked that night, even though we lost a close game. Hope it comes close to that atmosphere.

Does anyone know what the most attended Texas WBB game in the FEC during the regular season is? Just curious

I’m starting to feel like I want this 10k tomorrow for Vic more than anything, but of course I want it for charity and the team. It is shaping up to be a special day that could only be spoiled with a loss. We (the fans) and the team can’t let that happen

15,303 against Louisiana Tech in 1987.
Top 15 is here (pg 92):
wbb record book 2020 21 (PDF) - University of Texas Athletics
Back in the day we used to get a media guide. This has the Top 50 from the 2007-08 media guide (around the time they stopped publishing them).

But these attendance figures are why my blood boils when an AAS reporter goes on a podcast and starts running his mouth about this community not sporting WBB. That's ********. We supported WBB before it was cool. You can write a whole article about why the decline in attendance happened.

TexasSports.Com now shows no tickets available in the lower bowl (not even singles), and they have opened the upper level to General Admission sales. It also indicates through its color coding that the number of GA seats available in the Lower Bowl is "Low".

What if the Athletic Department had actually started promoting this once in a lifetime event as soon as the season started? Ya whiffed Big-time on this one Chris. But what an incredible effort by Vic, T.J., Micheal Huff, etc,. as well as the $1 tickets, but most importantly the re-awakening of the Longhorn Nation, many who hadn't been to a game in years. It's gonna be a helluva a good time!

We're Texas.

While I don't think everyone who bought tickets (at $1) will show up, the majority will. Sounds like we at least won't have a bunch of lower level sections completely empty.

Yeah, we can only wonder what if this type of marketing effort had been put forth earlier in the season, and for more games (not just the last one). I do understand that you have to start somewhere.

Based on the tweets I've seen, it's been Vic, TexasWBB and a few others (like TJ Ford and Michael Huff) promoting this effort. I've seen nothing from Chris Del Conte, his marketing staff, or anyone else in the administration employed by women's athletics. And, nothing from any of the head coaches like Steve Sarkisian, Chris Beard, Jerritt Elliott, etc. Perhaps I missed them.

Nothing from Chris Plonsky or Kathy Harston (although Harston does promote it on the game radio broadcasts).
