They don't play them on paper, but I sure like our height advantage, on paper, and on the court. OU shoots rather well, but that kinda crumples (get it, it's another paper metaphor, get it?) against a tight defense.

I don't have a ton of insight into this game, but at least OU is not another opponent motivated by wanting to beat Texas for the last time.

OU comes into this game 11-6 and 5-1 in the conference with a cake walk against Central Florida, BYU, Cincinnati, Tech and Houston - literally the bottom half of the conference standings. Their loss was a 17 point loss to top of the pack KState. The fact that they are third in the B12 is irrelevant.

They do have a big win back in November against then #12 Ole Miss but now (checks notes) Ole Miss is unranked. OU made it to 22 and then lost back to backs against Princeton and Tennesse and now OU isn’t even RV.

They average 77 points pg vs Texas 87
They average 45 rebounds pg vs Texas 42

They are 128 in the nation in Field Goal % vs #4 Texas

Scoring offense #39 vs #6 Texas

OU Net Rankiing #55 vs Texas at #2

Senior Forward Skylar Van leads the team with 14 ppg with only one other player cracking double digits. But they have two more just shy of 10 while Texas has 4 averaging double digits with a fifth just shy.

Unlike in previous years, they aren’t killing it at the three only averaging 29% attempting 26 pg vs Texas at 38% attempting 12 pg. Let’s hope they don’t suddenly get hot in Austin.

OU has a few stats that should be worrisome but I’m not giving that too much attention because they’ve played such a weak schedule.

On paper, we win this by double digits. My money is on the Horns. In other words: Will UT win? Does a bear sh*t in the woods while it rains in Seattle?

(Answer: yes, yes, and hell yes)

I certainly like our chances at Moody, may be tougher in Norman. As mentioned, the last stand motivation isn't there.

They've lost to virtually every good team they've played, and even lost to fing Southern. A team Texas beat by 45. It would certainly be a huge upset if Texas somehow did lose this one.

I watched the OU @ Houston game and didn’t come away overly impressed with the 6 point win by the Sooners.

OU doesn’t appear to matchup well with Texas, so it will be interesting to see how this one plays out. Texas has moved back up to #10 in the AP

Uhgg. Just saw this is one of those 6pm games. I assume due to the ESPNU broadcast. Locals and travelers will be dealing with horrific traffic getting to the Moody.

I love living in your head rent-free. lol. I would not be surprised if we lay an egg versus OU. Keeping expectations in check since we tend to lay an egg every season and can't consistently beat teams we're supposed to due to a higher ranking and better players.

Please just stop.

Wow, I finally had to use the "ignore" button that this site has so that you don't see the same crap from the same person over and over. Feel free to do the same to me!

Anyhoo.....I believe that OU is #allgasnodefense ? We should be fine, right?

I think the only teams in this league that can challenge us are Baylor, and K St. And K State demonstrated last night they are still formidable even without Lee. I do think we are very capable to beat both of these teams , but it will be a slugfest. As for Oklahoma, I don't think we will lay an egg, but we may fart a little before we win.

Despite my hatred for Bailor we needed them to win last night. Other than Texas, I don't think there's another team that can beat KSU, even without Lee. Bailor had the best chance last night and they blew it.

Aside from their upcoming game in Austin, KSU has two games left against ISU... they also go to OU, host WVU and travel to KU. The odds are definitely in the Wildcats' favor but there is a chance. They didn't play well against Baylor last night... That's just how horrible Baylor looked.

KSU played a really nasty zone in the second half, and Baylor did a really poor adjustment. It seemed like they were either trying to feed the post which lead to turnovers, or they tried to shoot threes, which they didn't make many. Anyway, I think the zone defense that KSU used seemed like a very effective strategy against Baylor, and I'm wondering if Vic noticed.

Think WVU can beat KSU, maybe ISU in Ames. Have to admit that I admire Jeff Mitte, after watching him coach TCU in several conferences over the years. I always expected KSU to be a tougher game than it has been for us, this year excepted.

I didn't watch the game, but looked at the box score. It was funky seeing Baylor score 8 points in both the 3rd and 4th quarter. That's kinda like a defense Texas (with a healthy Rori) would have thrown at them, if she had played.

Those 16 Baylor points is all they could get against their zone defense. I do feel like the Longhorns are better equipped against the zone than in the recent past. Let’s hope so!

Can someone please clarify the bucket that bounced off the floor/Book and into the basket in the 1st qtr? We were stunned at the Moody.

It's up to Vic to figure this out. Why on earth are we running a full court press when they are getting down the court faster than us and straight to the basket or dishing for a three.

Guess we really miss the heck outta Rori in a game like this. This oU team lost a lot of talent, but we’re just not stopping them. Vic gonna have to make some real halftime adjustments.

Tonight anyway, Andrew Lloyd should be our coach. She has an understanding that the players need to get down court as fast as possible, stay with their player tight, and in general slow the game down. Even Andrea couldn't do anything about OU's great 3 point shooting.

Come on Coach Vic Defense. What's the defensive plan for the rest of the game. They're still eating our lunch in the 3rd qtr. I'm with Andrew run down the court and find your man. And because we have the simplest offense in the country we can't purchase a basket when we are being defended.

Oh my. I just tuned in at halftime and what in the world????? Sure do wish Vic would go zone for a bit. OU just driving and cutting all the way to the basket.
