Texas vs Mizzou Game Thread

Sam isn't the only one TH sat down with and had hard conversations leading up to the Texas Bowl. He did that with Beck too. He needs to take control and make sure Beck calls conservative games when they have a lead. This clock management and running the ball late was smart football. It was a big improvement over the Tech Game, hope they keep it up next year. I can't wait!
 
I am with Phil, Herman doesnt need to be doing what he did at end, I know Mizzou was pulling the whole horns down crap and apparently has been talking a lot but coaches need to be above that, let the players do it, not you. Will say that players doing it pleasantly reminded me of the Rudy chants at end of 2007 Holiday Bowl.

Not ideal, but you know he wanted this win so bad. He got caught up in it.

I agree and will give him a pass as I think he was really hurt by the TTU debacle, just could not believe we laid that egg when he thought he had turned the corner. This win was a release for him IMO.

This is going to be the last I say on this, but we didn't give Nutt any slack because he really wanted it, or release from some some disappointment. Sorry, but IMO, Herman acted classless in that instance. Can any of you picture Mack Brown doing such?
 
Great game by my man Gary Johnson! I told my son earlier today that if UT won, one reason would be that GJ goes off. He led the team with 10 tackles tonite. Frankly he looks more like Britt Hager than Breckyn does. Great speed and GETS GUYS ON THE GROUND.
 
Think about CS' first year - we totally flopped in this same bowl game against Ark.

I guess it's telling how far we have fallen for me to be this jacked-up over beating a 7-6 team in a bowl, but winning still > losing.

BS call yes and unnecessary hit by Roach, but I'll take them both in THAT situation. Late in the game, send a message. Drive home the fact that the 'horns came to play and stacked their a$$es.

I prefer that we don't do anything like this no matter what happened before or during the game. This program hasn't felt like Texas for a long time, but it's still Texas.

Just win and walk away.

The only thing consistent about beck is that he is guaranteed to leave you scratching your head wondering wtf just happened. The first 4 maybe 5 drives were okay but then it started to tank as usually

That fourth quarter drive that I think resulted in the field goal was a back breaker for the ***** cats with stripes.

I hope the guys who skipped out on the team regret it. Maybe this was "just the Texas Bowl", but they missed out on participating in taking the next step in rebuilding the program. Didn't seem like we really missed them anyway.

Good luck in making your millions. You can't just sit out when your 6-6 NFL team doesn't make the playoffs and there are games left to play. Commitment to your teammates isnt about $$$$.

I agree it would’ve been the perfect response but it’s a win when not a lot of people thought we’d win this game with all the starters out for various reasons. I don’t know how 2018 will go but I think the teams and Herman’s actions at the end of the game showed how close this team and coach has become. A little immature or lacking class? Probably. But a great end to a struggle of a season? Definitely. Here’s hoping it’s the launching pad for getting these guys on one page, one direction, one win at a time. Hook em.
