Ok, I am late to the party, but from what I can gather this is what has happened.

Hall led off the game with a single and was sac bunted to second.

Weis singled him home and Payton hit into a double play.

Thornhill in the bottom half gave up a two out single and Hinojosa made an error.

Then Thornhill K's the the next batter to get out of it.

After one inning Texas leads 1-0.

Top of second and it looks the Horns have broken out some lumber or whatever bats are made of now.

Johnson with a triple and Marlow a double and an error on the play too, then a successful safety squeeze has made it 3-0.

Then Hall with another single makes it 4-0 and now we are up to date.

Texas leading 4-0 still batting in the second.

Moynihan lines out to third to end the inning.

Texas with the 4-0 lead to the bottom of the second.

Thornhill with a fly ball to the track in right for out one.

Hinojosa with a gem deep in the hole at short with a backhand stab and strong throw is out two.

Ground ball to Marlow at second ends the inning.

Still 4-0 Texas after two complete.

By the way the announcers are still terrible but less talkative when we are leading and that helps.

Weis K's looking to start the inning.

Payton flies out to right according to announcer but that sure looks like left field behind third base either way it's out two.

Silver at first again today k's swinging.

Texas with the lead 4-0 to the bottom of three.

Oppo blooper for a single leads off the inning.

Good thing this is video because announcers have turned to talking more about women's hockey than the baseball game now.

We are playing here for the first time in the 70 year history of the series, may it be at least that long before we return so not to endure this.

Meanwhile back at the baseball game Thornhill K's the batter for out one.

The Scclang is even retired on a slow comebacker for out two as the runner advances to second.

Chopper on the turf to Weis ends the inning.

Texas leads 4-0 after three complete.

New pitcher for the Gophers is a big lefty.

Hinojosa with a flair to center that drops for a single to lead off.

Johnson lays down the sac to move him to second for out one.

Felts catching today with a comebacker and the pitcher goes for HInojosa at third and launches it to left field for an error.

HInojosa scores to make it 5-0 and Felts moves to second.

Marlow singles and Felts moves to third.

Hall with a fly ball to left that falls on the line for a double.

Felts scores and it's 6-0 with runners now on second and third with one away.

Moynihan K's swinging for out two.

Weis grounds out to third to end it.

Horns play add on though, I like the sound of that.

Texas leads now 6-0 to the bottom of the fourth.

These nuggets for you. Announcer even more addled that usual and that's saying something.

He just updated us that Baylor had just beaten OSU and it was even more impressive because the game was in
Norman.

Then he says the Horns next game was with a Community College called TAMUCC. We know it as Texas A&M Corpus Christi. He can't believe Texas is playing a Community College.

Thornhill with a K for an out.

Emails pouring in from Texas assures these nuts that we are not playing a Community College now

Two ground balls to second are out two and three to end the inning.

Texas leads 6-0 after four innings.

Payton with a weak grounder to short for out one.

Silver walks to put a man on first.

Hinojosa fouls out on the right side for out two.

Johnson up and Silver moves to second on a wild pitch.

Johnson K's swinging to end the top of the fifth.

Halfway through and Texas leads 6-0.

Thornhill with another good outing so far induces a ground ball to Marlow on a couple of easy hops for out one.

Liner to the right center is gloved by Payton on a sliding catch for out two.

Lazy fly ball to left for the third out as Thornhill retires the side in order and is now in line to get the win.

Texas leads 6-0 after five innings now.

Felts up now and a shout out to Mankato State.

Who can forget those Spring Break games against that fine Institution back in the 80's. Well some of us can't anyway.

Felts ground out to second for out one.

Minnesota decided it's time for a pitching change.

Home from Half Marathon and it looks like the bats have awoken today. Its days like today that still give me hope that this team has potential to do some damage this year.

Another big lefty comes in to pitch.

Marlow singles up the middle for his third hit of the day puts a man on first with one away.

Hall pops up to shallow center for the second out.

Moynihan is up and Marlow swipes second and moves to third on a wp.

Moynihan K's swinging again for the third out.

Through 5 and one half Texas leads 6-0.

Thornhill starts things out with a swinging K for out one.

Our dear friend the old dairy farmer as the announcers call him
and my new pal Schlang flies out to deep left field for the 11th
straight man retired by Thornhill.

Another swinging K ends the inning.

Texas leads 6-0 after six.

We will find out a lot going to OSU in Stillwater next weekend or Norman as the announcers say that is where it is located.

Baylor went to one of those cities and split the series with OSU as the third game was canceled due to weather and Baylor has been struggling too.

Weis leads off with a walk to put a man on.

Payton grounds one through the left side for a single to put two on at first and second.

Here comes the Gopher coach again and we have another change.

Now a right hander on the mound for Minnesota.

Silver with the sac bunt moves them up to second and third.

Hinojosa K's looking for out two, it's been a good day for the bats,
but we still do this way too much.

Johnson is walked intentionally to bring up Felts and that loads them up.

Felts pops up to no man's land in foul territory and the old dairy farmer Schlangen goes face first into the bullpen pitchers mound. but doesn't make the catch.

Then Felts flies out to ole Schlang for the third out for poetic justice.

Texas leads 6-0 to the stretch.

Thornhill still on the hill having retired 12 straight Gophers.

A liner to center and Hall dives for it and misses and it goes by him, but backed up by Johnson to keep it a double.

Now a line drive single to left puts runners on the corners.
Might be time to go get Thornhill and here comes Skip.

But Thornhill will remain in the game.
Wild pitch moves the runner to second as the runner holds at third.

A walk loads them up and I will say again it might be time to get Thornhill and finally here comes Skip and that all for him.

Good outing that I hope is not wasted. Need to shut this down without too much damage.

New pitcher is Culbreth the lefty to face a lefty.

Culbreth hits the batter on the first pitch to make it 6-1 and now here comes Skip to get him.

Ty version of the Marlows on to pitch now in a full blown jam now that needs getting out of pronto.

Fly ball to Payton and he one hops a perfect throw to the plate to keep the runner at third.

Marlow walks the next man on four pitches to make it 6-2.
I'm not liking this.

SF to left makes it 6-3 for out two.

The mighty Schlang up in a big moment in the game now and he grounds out on a 6-4 FC to finally end the inning, sorry Schlang.

Needed that as Texas lead is cut in half to 6-3 after seven complete.

Might be time to loosen #29 up.

Marlow flies out to left after missing a double down the right field line by about six inches for out one.

Hall flies out to right center for out two.

Two out meeting on the mound is a stall job and then the call is made for yet another pitcher a lanky right hander enters the fray.

Moynihan follows suit with a fly ball to center to end the inning.

To the bottom of the eighth 6-3 Texas

And right on cue here is Knebel.

Pop up to Weis is out one.

A liner to left staggers Johnson but he hangs with it to make the catch for the second out.

A big swing is a K for the third out as Knebel retires the side in order.

To the ninth Texas leads 6-3.

Weis flies out to center for the first out.

Payton hits one off the wall in right for a double.

This guy can hit a little bit.

Silver k's swinging for out two.

Hinojosa pops to shallow right to end the inning.

To the bottom of nine with Knebel out for the save as Texas leads 6-3.

Knebel with a routine fly ball to left that for some reason makes this announcer squeal for out one.

A swinging K for the second out.

Another swinging K is the ball game as these guys are just over matched by Knebel.

Texas wins the game 6-3 and the series 2-1 and the person must be pissed who owns this feed as it goes down 10 seconds after the last pitch.

I would normally complain about two innings of work yet again for Knebel, but he has gotten so little use this past week and a half that his work this weekend shouldnt impact him long term.

Nice to comeback and win series and again this team shows signs of having potential though the seeds of so many previous losses are still all too evident.

It's a nice day for the bats finally and good to win the series.

But honesty compels me to say that yes the starter on Friday for the Gophers is a good one, but this a middle of the pack Big Ten team most likely.

The proof comes next weekend in Stillwater. It's a pretty even match up and we need to win the series or we will be starting in catch up mode in the conference. Even a 2-1 series win just gets us back to .500.

I know it's early but don't need to get into any big holes and keep our overall record up as best we can to avoid something like last season.
