Texas vs Minnesota Game 2

NBHorn7

Pimp Daddy
Our version of March Madness continues.

Hall K's looking for out one.

Moynihan grounds out to first for out two.

Announcers trying to make something out of our pregame ritual in the stands, they remain clueless.

Weis walks.

Payton singles to right some things never change to put runners on first and second.

Hinojosa, it's day two and they still can't pronounce his name.
That takes some real effort to be that clueless and unprofessional. This isn't some student doing this.

Hinosa as the announcer calls him grounds out to short 6-4 FC to end the inning.

No score to the bottom of one.

Peters on the mound today for Texas.

Comebacker for the first out.

My guy Schlangen grounds sharply up the middle and Marlow fields it and flips it to Hinojosa who makes a bad throw and its an infield single. A good throw would have had him and been a highlight reel play.

Now a single puts runners on first and second.

Another single to left and there would have been a good chance to nail the guy at the plate and we boot it in left and the run scores.

Minnesota 1-0 so far and here we go again.
Fly ball to center for out two and the runners hold at first and second.

Passed ball moves them up any way. We have a lot of those it seems.

Next hitter hits a fairly routine ball to left that Johnson gets to easily as the announcer has a coniption fit thinking it is going to be a gapper.

Minnesota leads 1-0 after one inning.

1-0, so the real question is it already an insurmountable deficit.

Man has my faith in this team disappeared fast.

Johnson lines out to right for out one.

Montalbano chops one to short and the throw just beats him at first for out two.

Carter singles to put a runner on as the announcer says we lost to Nebraska earlier this year. It's so bad we lose even when we win. How do these people get jobs doing this? The A team is doing hockey no doubt.

Ground out to second ends the inning.

Bottom of two Minnesota leads 1-0.

Peters gives up a single to right to lead things off.

Soft pop up to Weis at third is out one.
Next batter pops up a bunt and Peters comes in by the line, but can't field it in the air. He does short hops it though and easily throws out the runner from first at second as he had to hold up on the play. Strange 1-6 FC for out two.

Fly ball to left ends the inning.

Minnesota leads 1-0 after two.

Hall leads off and is HBP to reach.

And Moynihan pops up the sac attempt for out one.

It's really close between these how we are playing and these announcers on which is more brutal, I give a slight edge to the announcers.

I guess we took offense to that which is about the only offense we have these days as Weis hits into a 4-6-3 dp that is confirmed as they call interference on Hall at second.

Minnesota leads 1-0 to the bottom of three.

Good ole Schlangy is up and bunts one down the first base line.
He was out of the box when he bunted it and and Peters got him anyway, but he is called safe.

Here comes Augie to argue, but you cannot deny the Schlang and I guess he is give a hit.

Shallow fly to center is the first out.

Ground ball up the middle is cut off by Hinojosa who flips to Marlow and the relay is in time for the dp 6-4-3.

Inning over and Minnesota leads 1-0 after three.

Payton leads off bloops a single to left center for his second hit of the day.

HInojosa bunts the sac attempt to hard back to the mound and it's a 1-6 FC and we are 0-2 now in sac attempts

Stell pinch hitting now as I think Augie is getting just a bit upset at some people.

Of course Stell K's swinging for out 2.

Montalbano with another ground ball behind third and this time he beats the throw as the third baseman double clutches the ball.

Announcer continue to amaze as they say they are checking to see if this is the first Texas hit. They say it's not as Payton singled in the first. Of course they can't even remember that Payton singled to lead off this inning too. Idiots.

A balk that these morons didn't even notice moves the runner to second and third.

Silver who had came in last inning for Carter singles through the hole and it scores both runners and
it plates both as Texas leads now 2-1! Announcers say it's still Carter of course.

I had almost forgotten how to type that.

Marlow singles now and what is this?
Coach out to the mound, but no change is made.

Hall squibs one to short and a bare handed attempt is not made and it's an infield hit to load them up.

Chance for a rare big inning not achieved as Moynihan lines softly to third.

Texas yes I said Texas leads 2-1 to the bottom of four.

Ground out for first out for Peters.

Someone in Austin couldn't stand it any longer and sent an email to these clowns to try to give them a clue on how to pronounce Hinojosa. How embarrassing is that.

Right on cue the second out is a line drive to however they pronounce HInojosa this time.

Slow roller to short is and infield hit.
A real line drive single follows.

Skip out to the hill for a meeting, but no change is made
Ground ball to second goes for a 6-4 FC to end the threat and the inning.

Texas maintains the 2-1 lead through four.

Weis works a walk in a good at bat to lead off.

Payton lays down a good bunt and the third baseman had stayed back as Payton had been swinging away. He beats it out for his third hit of the day. Would love to have about 8 more Paytons on this team.

Hinojas continues to struggle trying to bunt so he is chops one through hole at short and Weis scores to make it 3-1 Horns.
He was so happy they pronounced his name correctly once.

Shaw ph's and grounds slowly to second and it plates another run as the only play is at first.

It's 4-1 Texas now in what is an offensive explosion for this team. All singles but we are scoring.

Ground out for out two.

Silver chops one to short and a high throw to first, but they say the tag was in time. Hard to tell and they don't have replays in this fine production so who know.s

Two more runs though and it's Texas leading 4-1 to the bottom of the fifth.

Peters still hurling and a line drive directly at Marlow is out one.

The might Schlangen singles to right. You can't expect to contain the mighty Schlang as he is never a soft hitter and with his hard pokes.

Another single to right puts runners on first and second.

Now a walk loads them up and puts the tying runs on.

A single through the hole at short scores a run and the bases remain loaded. Here comes Skip again.
Texas leads 4-2 now. Peters stays in to face the lefty batter
Another weird play, A line drive to Payton in right and he drops the ball as he was trying to set up his throw to the plate.

The run scores but Payton recovers and throw out the runner from first on a rare 9-6 FC.

Texas leads 4-3 now as according to the announcers Augie comes out to make the pitching change.

Runners on first and third now with two out.

Marlow on to pitch and a bunt in front of the plate and Marlow doesn't let Montalbano make the play and it's an infield hit.
Marlow could have made the play.

Runner at third had to hold and their loaded.

Pop to right ends it as the truly moronic announcers say that the error on Payton has not been posted yet, but will be.
These people are a special kind of stupid. There was an out recorded on a fielders choice. No basis to give an error.

New pitcher on for the Gophers

Texas leads 4-3 to the top of six.

Marlow flies out for out one.

Hall pops out to short in shallow left for the second out.

Moynihan grounds out to first 3-1 as the pitcher covers.

Texas trying to hang on leading 4-3 as we go to the bottom of six,

Fly ball to fairly deep left that Shaw who is out there now misjudges, but is able to get on his horse and make the play for out one.

Marlow still pitching as the announcers say if Minnesota wins tomorrow they will win the series, so can we stop this game now and we win?

A ball to the gap to the nice garbage bag wall in right turns into a triple as a chance at the runner goes awry with a bad relay throw by Hinojosa.

A single again by the unstoppable Schlang ties the game now at 4, you really didn't think this would be easy did you?

Fly ball to center is the second out.
Ground ball to Weis for the inning ender.

Tied at 4 after six.

Weis with a leadoff oppo single to left

Payton with a one hopper to first right on the bag and then he throws out Weis on the tag at second for a 1U-6 dp.

The many pronounced but seldom correct Hinojaso K's swinging and a promising start goes down in flames.

Tied at 4 to the stretch.

A shallow pop to left that C.J. ranges back on a routine play is the first out as the announcers get excited for a bloop hit.

Another pop this time foul to Weis is out two.

Liner to Payton in right is the third out as they go down in order.

Still tied at 4 after seven complete.

Thanks for the updates.

Shaw leads off with swinging K for out one.

Montalbano with a fly ball to center as the center fielder they call lightning makes a long run according to the announcers. It was a long run of about 20 feet for out two.

A soft liner to second ends the inning for Texas.

Tied at four to the bottom of eight.

Marlow still out there and this sums up the announcers in a nutshell.

A long drive that is going foul down the line and they say it is over the left fielders head, but he dives and makes the catch.

Great play by Shaw in foul ground on a true long run to make an outstanding diving catch for the first out.

Here comes Skip again and Culbret comes in to pitch.

Culbreth K's the first man he faces swinging.

Ground ball to second is the third out.

Tied at 4 after 8 complete.

If we could score we might see that Knebel guy, remember him?

Marlow with a lead off ground ball to short and he airmails the throw into the camera well for an error that sends Hall to second.

Hall has to do a dance back on the pitch but gets down the sac bunt to move Marlow to third.

Steinhagen to pinch hit for Moynihan.

He pops one to very shall center and Marlow holds for out two.

I think I might have left Moynihan in there and tried the safety squeeze.

Weis trying for a big clutch job that this teams desperately needs.

Weis walks that puts runners on the corners on a close pitch.

Payton up and you can't ask for more than that. Have to score here you might think and they walk him intentionally. That tells you what they think of our hitting.

Up to Hinojosa now.

Intentional walk of Payton to load bases and showing respect for only Texas hitter with any consistency.

Up to Hinojosa, come on CJ.
