Texas vs. Kansas State: Game Thread

Wow. We had more short yardage stops on D in the 4th Qtr than we have had all season. We basically had a MASH unit on the field today.

Players and coaches ending the season with Horns up singing the Eyes. Get these kids back the books, get healthy and coaches need to go recruit their a$$es off.

Please please don’t allow us to get a bowl bid with 5 wins. We don’t need the extra 10 practices, we need health and recruiting.

Our Defensive personnel, strategy, and tactics worked very well against a traditional run/balanced offense.

Stopping the air raid offenses will require an improved pass rush. That’s what we need most on D—an improved pash rush.

Good solid win via old school football. Sark learning that all Gas can gas your D.
Amazing how the D can hold up when they get to rest a little. The offense wasn't great...but ran the ball well enough to stay on the field and spell the D.
KState helped too with a relatively weak offensive effort...

Loved RJ, seeing Wiley a couple plays (dude looks like a beast), Ford and Gbenda paired well, oline run blocking, 4th down stops, Worthy early impact, saw a few run gaps plugged. Bear in mind, KState offered little pass threat...but any win is a good one and the guys played hard again...but added smarter to it.
WTG team!
:hookem:

A couple of years after we joined the B12, I was riding the tram between terminals at DFW. I was wearing a Longhorn windbreaker. A dude decked out in KSU purple from head to toe walks up and begins to tell me how much he hates UT and everything burnt orange. This dude was red-faced and spitting as he talked. All I could do is stand there and laugh as I listened to him. Over the years I've met more just like him.

So yeah, this feels good. Kinda feels good to tell KSU and tceh folks that even in our worst year since 1956, we still beat them.

That Herman-era* rugby scrum really worked well today. It was responsible for more than a few first downs, and plenty of extra yardage.

*actually, this still-effective football tactic goes back to the great Yale teams circa early 1900s.

The training room will work overtime.

Apparently the team is enjoying the win in the locker room
They deserve it.

Agree! They've gone through the worst stretch of football my eyes have ever seen. Celebrate the win and use it through the off season to get better. Hopefully we don't get suckered into a bowl game and end up blowing this mojo. I've heard there will be about 2-3 5 win teams get in because there aren't enough 6 win teams to fill the spots.

Toilet bowl here we come.

Sark said they would decide if an invite was offered. He mentioned both sides
One thing he did say I liked is he didn't feel effort was being made by some so he sent others in
And the result pleased him.
Hell yes. You aren't giving it all you ride the bench.

The players LHN interviewed all want to play a bowl game.
