Texas vs. Iowa State Game Thread

Until either qb can play without without happy feet not much will change. Even Vince would look weak behind this line.
Sometimes happy feet are better than sacks. Watch how much time the opposing qb has versus that of Texas. Every game…no change.

Uh, did you not see Casey hit Worthy in stride last week and Moore - of course he dropped it. Not saying he has never missed but lately the long ball has been on. Not saying he wasn’t off with his passing today. But not conceding Card is looking ready to take over.

But a 4-Star college QB just can’t miss a wide open receiver with that type of separation. It’s disgusting. He has never shown the propensity to be able to hit a deep pass. Not at Texas.

I’d probably start Casey in the 2nd half but replace him again if he’s ineffective.

I've been one of the big proponents of the "People are too QB-centric in their thinking and we have several other bigger problems" theory. And we've had a couple of sacks where the QB just had no escape path. But we've also had 5 or 6 plays with an open guy where we either didn't see him, or misfired on the throw, despite not being pressured at the time.

It’s ALL about line play. We’re losing in the trenches on both sides of the ball and that’s why we’re losing. The remaining positions are good enough or better, but the old adage is still true - you win and lose in the trenches. Until we get the lines shored up this isn’t going to change no matter who’s at QB or any other position.

We have 10 more points with an adequate QB for sure. Also thought there were time Card should have tucked and run. This OLine is not good, but QB is a bigger issue. Because even when the OLine gives them time and they have wide open receivers they can't hit them.

Not saying we’re going to win but this game feels different to me. The players are chippy, and they seem to be pissed. I like that. Defense also seems to be tougher than I have seen so far this year but then again, we’ve only seen one half.

I have a feeling that we will not collapse in the second half but candidly, that remains to be seen.

Hudson played tentatively, but every one says he’s got the tools. Maybe he just needs some time to get some confidence.
