They only average 14.7 3-pt attempts per game (307th nationally) and hit 30.5% of them team. That's 39 spots above Texas at 346 (out of 349 teams) at 11.0 3-pt attempts per game, making 36.4%.Friday can’t come soon enough. I’m always for WBB discussion. This 3 point discussion is a nice time filler. My last comment on shooting the 3 is in regards to the Drexel team. I believe we’ll see enough 3’s from them to satisfy our thirst. If they can get open. If I’m Schaefer, staying hard on their outside shooters is a good strategy. They can’t succeed inside against our size. Pressing full court is always an option for Schaefer and Drexel will struggle against that. But to me, you play tough half court D and conserve energy for Sunday game.
If Drexel's coaches think they can win this game by going inside, I suspect they are in for a very rude awakening. I think we are going to see them attempt a lot more 3s than normal, and we will probably shoot fewer than normal, due to our robust physical mismatches inside. They only average 14.7 3-pt attempts per game (307th nationally) and hit 30.5% of them team. Yeah, I'm pretty comfortable believing they are going to need a performance like that guy from Oakland College who just torched Kentucky last night. I'm also pretty comfortable believing they won't get it.Based on:
- Their FG % on the season (~40%, low for a team that consistently score with their post players)
- low point output (~57 ppg)
- Opponent Scoring Average (~55 ppg)
- Low 3-pt attempts
- Overall lack of size
I assumed they were a team content to play at a slow pace and take the lion's share of their shots in the midrange but I haven't watched a single one of their games so I'm probably wrong.
ESPN3 right now says ESPN site.Thought the game was going to be on the U. All I see is wrestling.
I’ll watch online and check back later to see if it’s on tv yet.
He is a class act. Passionate about the game and always shows respect for every aspect.Seeing Coach Schaefer take the time to talk with many of the Drexel players
Could WE be any prouder?
ESPN shows today’s attendance at 7487 for our game. Fantastic, especially considering the 2 PM start time.Exactly the type of game we needed. I love to see and hear those students so engaged and LOUD!
