Texas vs Cincinnati 01/27/2024

Based on the 2 postgame pressers, it’s pretty obvious that there’s a lot of mutual respect and admiration between Vic and Katrina.

Substituting with 34 seconds left in the game is ridiculous. Not only is it insulting and humiliating, but what gets accomplished by putting someone in the game when they don't even have enough time left to do anything?

an opportunity for you to get your best players out and them being honored by the crowd.

I judge the respect Vic has for the opposing team by the way he greats the coaches in the handshake line. Vic stood there for at least 45 seconds shaking her hand and talking to her, which indicated a very, very high level of respect for her.

So it's more important for your main rotation to receive recognition for a win over CINCINNATI than substitute players to get a couple of minutes.

I too think it's insulting to put a player in for the last minute. Maybe you do that with a walk on to give the starter some recognition, but not a scholarship player.

With about 4 min left I was saying this would be a good time to get Maul and Codio some minutes. How do you expect them to develop if they never get meaningful minutes? And we're going to need their 3 pt shooting, and ball handling, next year. They need to be learning how to handle a hard press now.

If you don't feel comfortable that they can protect a double digit lead with a couple of minutes left in the game, then I get it. That is what it is... but don't put them in at all if there's not enough time left for them to get a few runs up and down the court.

Like the post primarily for the last sentence.

Jak had her second impactful game in the last three. She is earning trust and more minutes, IMO.

After watching Vic's presser, I wanted to burst into a chorus of Kumbaya.
Let's beat BU at their place, Hook'em!
:yippee:
