Texas vs Baylor: Game Thread

I would bet a million dollars that Charlie and/or his staff didn't even realize that Baylor was out of time outs. Freaking amazing!

Somebody coach me up here.

DBs are coached to keep their eyes on the receiver as they go downfield. But once you get into the end zone wouldn't it make sense to turn around? I understand the play could break up and the receiver could run away from you, but in most cases the ball is in the air when you get to the EZ.

course if we don't call TO, aren't lined up and they score, they would be saying. Why didn't Charlie call TO when he had one left.
But the clock was still running and they had no timeouts we stopped it gave them a chance to set up a play

hill looks like he could care less right now that is what you don't need on the field right now
This has been the problem since Charlie got here. Whole team has never been after it. Players here and there, but never the whole team.

And why take a knee there?

When the play is on the endzone sideline or back line of the endzone the receiver has nowhere to run. Turn and play the ball.

I think they're right about Hill's confidence. I thought he was a rising star last year. This year, not so much.

If I'm Hill, I consider grabbing Cannon off the line. You get a half the distance flag and also run a few seconds off the clock. Not much downside.

Guys- the D was not set, thus the TO was the right call for UT.

That is the problem right there. 14 seconds left in the half, baylor has no timeouts and our coaches are trying to run people on and off the field resulting in a timeout by us giving Baylor a chance to regroup and resulting in a touchdown. This is what leads to 14-18, that and giving up a third and 12 on a 30 yard qb run where he runs 30 yards before meeting a defender.

Are we winning this game against a top 10 team at the half?
I can't tell by reading this board.
The D has played much better.
We score 23 in the first half.
We are winning and get the ball first second half.
Go ahead.
Enjoy yourself.

D played pretty well. You can't just look at the score as this is a possession game. Baylor had 11 possessions and we held them to 3 TDs and the D got 2 pts back. that's winning football. The O has to score more. 2x we got inside the 35 and Burt drops 2 balls, and did a stupid QB kick. those are possessions you can't just give away. Make some plays and we're at least up 9.

LBs dropped way too deep. Like in 30 yds. If you are playing zone, someone has to stay short of the 1st down marker.

2:40 after the start time, we finally have the 2d half kickoff. 20 years ago we'd be in the middle of the 4th quarter right now.
