Alright let's jump it up and see what happens. It's a new season in a couple of ways... we definitely need to come out swinging from the get-go.
 
Maddie looks rattled already. Didn’t expect this from her, she’s always looked confident. Shake it off Maddie!!!
 
We've had moments on defense but it's pretty evident we can't match bailor's quickness.
Offensively...no flow no confidence.
Maybe playing from behind will take some of jitters out of this team.
 
The occasional (frequent?) confusion on offense w/o Rori is almost comical. Well, I’ll be honest. I’ve had to laugh a time or two.
 
Darnit, the schedule I checked said gametime was 2:00 pm so I missed most of the first half.

Already had to mute these announcers.

Isn’t Maul a point guard? I guess Vic doesn’t trust her to take on that role yet.

A little nerves to start off but they have settled down. Down by 6 at the half.

BU is fast. We have to think quick and execute. And like I say every season we need another offensive set besides the dribble drive.
 
Well, the second quarter was a comeback of sorts, but UT got stuck at 23 points for quite a while and couldn't capitalize. The box score makes Texas look better than it is actually playing, but I guess the 2nd half will tell. We just need some more scoring here and there. I'm not officially crestfallen yet.
 
Okay, not crestfallen. Actually a little miffed that we could have won this game after the first quarter with a few free throws. I hope the gals take this to heart and don't come out so willy-nilly the next few games.
 
We put up a good fight and went toe-to-toe with a top 10 team in spite of the circumstances. This is probably how most of our games here on out are going to look... some will go in our favor and some won't. The game was pretty much even statistically aside from 3-point shooting, they were able to defend ours better than we did theirs. We left some significant points at the free throw line as well. Definitely nothing to hang our heads about.
 
Even though bailor made us look like we're running in sand this game was very winnable. Make some free throws. Make a couple of the blown shots at the rim , cut 3-4 turnovers.

Oh well. Got a idea of what this team is going to look like. We will not see an overall quicker team until we see them in wacko.
 
Walker was the guard some of us wanted, but I don’t think Vic ever pursued her. I didn’t think she’d be their starter, much less leading scorer today. But there it is. It’s also pretty clear from this game that this team will go as Madi Booker goes. Maybe if we get Taylor back, we could still compete for conference. But we’ve clearly got a long way to go to get there.
