Texas vs A&M

:hookem: Really significant road and out of conference win to make it a now 15 game win streak. Pitching Gordon and Morehouse showed how much Pierce wanted this one even if it was a mid week game. Now on to Okie State and if the Horns can take 2 of 3 or better they put themselves in the drivers seat for early conference race.

Kudos to #94 UT fan flying the double Hook ‘Em at Listeria Stadium. Love it.

Way better than that fat aggy doing the ineffective pitching voodoo hand maneuver on Morehouse.

Always a great day when aggy gags. Even better when the whoopin’ is by their Big Bro. The best when it’s at their house.

Nice win, Horns!! 15 straight!!

This team is really coming around. To have 8 players drafted and lose about 80% of your production and be able to improve this much in such a short time is a testament to Pierces coaching. Hook 'Em!!!

Gordon’s probably limited to around 75 pitches this weekend.

Morehouse will be a Sat or Sun reliever.

LBJ may be good to go on Sunday with no limitations.

Hurley and Sthele are good to go with no limitations—they didn’t pitch.

One possibility is to let a Hurley/Sthele tandem go Friday, and save Geno for Saturday or Sunday, just for this one weekend. Burke should get a lot of innings this coming weekend.

The above-quoted post is now required reading for all Hornsfans posters on the Baseball Board.

Woody should be given a lot of credit for working with the pitching staff. Although we only have one starter, we are pitching like we have a top 5 staff in the country.

Easy VH. Praising a coach too much around here can get you in some deep ****.

(P.S. I agree but PLEASE, for the love of God, don't tell anybody)

It’s going to be a weird weekend for sure, he HAS to limit Gordon Friday if he pitches Friday and I can’t imagine not throwing Gordon Friday. It was a really perplexing move especially after the number of pitches he threw last Friday. I would be concerned for Gordon’s health if he’s not given proper rest or limited. I know they will do the right thing so I’m not worried but I’m interested in how it works out this weekend.

I can honestly see flipflopping Gordon to the Saturday evening start against Okie State because that is essentially four full days rest from the pitches last night. Then he slots back into his Friday role at home the next weekend. Texas absolutely must get one win in Stillwater and saving your number one for Saturday gives the Horns an advantage in that game if things don't go right Friday. Last year a couple of teams tried that strategy against Texas not wanting to waste their number one up against Hansen.

Yeah, I bet that's what Coach does with Gordon. Maybe even start Gordon this coming Sunday, then Saturday the next week, then back to Friday the week after that...?

The middle relievers (especially Burke) need to be ready to take it from entering the game in relief to the end of game. Hurley or Sthele should start Friday--both of those 2 guys need to go for plenty of innings. The young guns (Lummus, Whitehead, Grubbs, Howard) will be expected to contribute a couple of quality innings (or more) each this weekend. Shaw can come in for an inning each game to put down any developing rallies. And this would be a good weekend for Stuart, and even Walbridge, to get their stuff together. We have some high pitch counts we're dealing with, and non-infinite options on the mound.

It will be a tough weekend, against a good opponent, on their home turf. Winning this series on the road would be HUGE!

Of course, it would help if we got 15 hits again... (per game)
