Anja Kujundzic from Serbia! 5’5” libero that played at Virginia commonwealth last year. Second team all conference.

Elliot certainly has more and better options this year. At libero and DS. Halter is incumbent libero with Emerick returning as redshirt freshman. Gary, Kuj…., as transfers make 4 listed liberos. Krueger as incoming freshman makes #5 libero. Obviously, some of those will become DSs. Going with the opinion that you need three good littles to win big……peruse the above 5 and guess which is the 3 and where they play. I’m guessing Halter, Gary and Kuj…..are the three littles that play early with Halter holding on as starting libero. The other 2……Emerick and Krueger are too young.
 
With FIVE liberos (one listed as libero/ds), Elliot is loaded at the littles. Only two setters…..Swindle and Binney. I don’t know enough about Binney to entrust her as the primary back-up. Is it possible Elliot looks for a graduate transfer back-up setter after spring is over? Perhaps seeing Binney in spring games will give confidence. Certainly more information.

Well with Harvey's arrival in the summer, the team would be at 18. That is the magic number being proposed by the NCAA for volleyball roster limits with all being on scholarship. Whether this ends up fully enacted as proposed or not, I would guess they'll try to stay at the limit so they don't have to push anyone out if it's enacted later. So based on that, recruiting and transferring would be done unless someone enters the portal when the window opens back up again at the end of the spring.
 
The MB competition will be interesting if not exciting. There are 4 options……Singletary, Ames, Bunton and Taylor. Last year there was lots of expert chatter about inexperience with Singletary and Ames and need to get better. Singletary cemented her place in as starting MB with her blocking and athleticism. Ames showed promise but was slower than expected. Bunton showed some flashes but was not a real option for Elliot. Slightly disappointed that Taylor won’t be at Texas until summer. Taylor is shorter (6’-2”) but apparently mobil/skilled/active. Ames will be the early second MB but can Taylor win that spot before September? Or will Bunton improve and grab the spot? Spring games will provide a little early preview.
