miscommunication on that pass. TCU picks it off and Medley will head to the FT line after the time out. Horns up 42-41 with just over 3 minutes to go.
Let's go, Horns!
third road win that slipped away. Not a good pattern. Horns need to get a road win to get this monkey off their backs. Next chance will Jan 28 at Kansas.
We need better guard's and Outside shooting.I don't see a guard, that can create their own shot. And you got to play with some energy for 40 minute's,if you want to win.
Terrible play by Brady at the end. Why is one of the most uncoordinated players driving the basket then in bounding the ball? What an embarrassing loss. Absolutely pathetic. You're right after all Babhorn - TCU isn't one of the worst teams in the conference. We are. Let the spin begin.
Well hopefully they can turn the tide or we'll have a lllooonnggg season. Please don't recruit anyone else that has good defense, block shotter, etc. We need SCORERS!! People who can create their own shot! SCORERS SCORERS SCORERS!!! And hire an offense coach!
We need more than guards. 26 turnovers, including 15 steals by TCU. A high school team can do better than that. Did these players have so little court sense in HS?
Same old, same old on the offense. Where was the game plan for this game? The most casual Big 12 fan knows TCU plays a salty 3-2 zone. Even Karen Aston knows, she faced them twice last year. Why does it take a half and a big deficit for the team to recognize this?
26 turnovers, 15 TCU steals because the passing zones are SO predictable.
The defense is very good, good enough to keep the team in many games, but as long as Alice the goon sits there scowling on the sideline incapable or refusing to coach offense beyond a slant pass and hi-lo to the post, the ceiling for this TX program is middle of the pack in the big 12 in a good year.
Aston can recruit as many stellar guards as she can: her praxis on offense will ruin them. Fussell, Davenport, Henderson are all very good guards.
Congrats to Jeff Mittie and the Horned Frogs on their first victory in 30 plus attempts against TX. You were undersized and overmatched but you had a game plan and stuck to it for 30 minutes which was enough. If Karen Aston sticks around, this was just your first victory of many.
Of course I always want us to win, but in another way I'm not unhappy for TCU to win this game. Why are zone defenses so underused? We were flummoxed by their defense and found almost no seams the whole way. I think Mittie is a really good coach. He was on my short list of my personal choices when we were picking a new coach.
How disappointing this morning to read Coach Aston blamed the TCU loss on her players' immaturity. How about blame it on the coaches' inability to teach players how to run an offense? Or blame it on herself for a total lack of preparation, focus and motivation. With her record of mediocrity (barely that), Aston is in no position to start throwing her team under the bus. Speaking of busses, I'm not sure the wheels are coming off this bus but Aston better grab a wrench and start tightening the nuts because I think the wheels are dangerously loose.
Made the drive over from Dallas and was impressed with the number of Texas fans there. Looked like about as many as home games...now I understand why! The fans were about all that showed up in Ft Worth Sunday for Texas!
Joe T. Garcia's was great!
This far into the season, immaturity is not an exceptable excuse. There was nothing about that game that was new for anyone. Road game against a so-so team. What exactly had they not experienced before to explain this loss? Aston said the same thing after West Virginia loss. The only one lacking the necessary experience is the head coach. JMO
I don't feel that Coach A, is a bad Coach.
She really need's a Offensive Coach.
The defense is good.Rate in the Top 5 in the Nation.
The guard play for us, is sometime's a joke.
When the new guard's come in next year. Some of these guard's playing now. Will barely hit the floor. Nekia Jones pass better then any guard we have.Let's get tougher Guard's.Way too many turnover's.Now that's not that Coach fault.
At least half the turnovers are the fault of the coaching. The guards are only taught to force-feed the post even when the pass is not there. The entire lack of variety on offense means that the passing lanes are very predictable and the opposing defenders can step up and pick the ball off. Aston's offense has been like that since day 1. 20 turnovers in very first game against St. Johns last year and 26 against TCU yesterday.
Aston's coaching of a half court offense is laughable, and it is getting worse not better. At least last year, there was a bit of ball reversal.
I still feel we need better top notch guard's.Who can creating their own shoot.C. Fussell barely can do that.We really need a Offensive Coach. They just stand around.Hell run a Motion Offense.
Tree- I can't say that I agree with you on the lack of ball reversal. I would say that we attempt to do that almost to a fault this year.
After watching the game again for the second time, I am a little less discouraged. To play defense the way we did in the second half was encouraging. The offense down the stretch is what concerns me. The one thing I wish KA had is the ability to script the end of the game. If you look at the Uconns, ND's and Louisvilles of the world, their coaches call every single play under 3 minutes. But that's something that will come with time.
