First pitch is coming up here in a few minutes. Lefty Dillon Peters on mound for Horns.

Peters is 1-1 with 2.41 ERA.

Peters gets a out and K before a throwing error by Weiss lets third batter get all way to second base. The second K of the inning for Peters though erases the threat with no damage.

0-0 headed to bottom of first.

Peters works around a Weis throwing error to get out of the inning
without any scoring.

Texas comes to bat for first time.

Bottom One

UCSB pitcher Jacome is 1-1 with 3.57 ERA

Hall K's to lead off;
Stell flied out to left;
Weiss draws full count walk;
Weiss takes second on wild pitch;
Payton flies out to center to end inning.

0-0 through 1 full.

Peters gives up a stand up double on first pitch of second inning. High grounder to pitcher advances runner to third as Peters tags out runner.

Swing and a miss on strike three to next batter gets away and by time Felts gets ball too late to throw out batter so runners now on first and third.

Long fly ball to left that carried almost to wall scores run. That dropped k leads to a run surrendered. Chopper to short ends inning.

1.5 done UCSB leads 1-0.

Texas had gone like 38 innings before today without an error.

Really making Peters work hard and throw a lot of pitches due
to the misplays and cost him a run.

Bottom Two

Hinojosa with long fly ball that chases left fielder to the wall but just a really long fly out to left;
Steinhagen grounds out to third baseman;
Felts gets HBP on what was ball four anyway;
McElroy hits stand up double that advances Felts to third;
Brooks Marlow strikes out swinging to end inning.

Horns strand two in scoring position.

2 full done and Texas trails 1-0.

Sadly, have a family obligation with my two year old, so someone else please take this home. last night I left and bats woke up so hopefully it happens again.

Again FW leaves and Texas scores. Do I see a trend here?

Texas ties it on a two out triple by Weis and a double by who else
but Payton.

Tied now at 1 after 3.

A single, error by Peters, and HBP load the bases with two outs
for UCSB.

Then a fly ball that gets caught in the wind in left has Stell
almost fooled but reaches back across his body to make the
catch barely. That was almost a three run disaster.

Still tied at 1 to the bottom of the 5th.

Marlow leads off with a triple over the left fielders head.
We try the safety squeeze, but it's too hard back to the pitcher.
Marlow can't score and it's just a FC for an out.
Stell K's for out 2.
Weis is on a HBP
But Payton grounds out to first to end it.
Runner on third with no outs is stranded, not good.

Still tied at 1 after 5 complete.

Peters gives up a two out walk.
Peters picks the runner off first, but McElroy's throw to second
is low and it's called a stolen base.
Peters walks the next hitter and he is done for today.

Ty Marlow on to pitch now.
After going 0-2 on breaking pitches, Marlow delivers a high
fastball is lined to the wall in left for a double.
One run scores and it's now 2-1 Gauchos.
A soft liner to his brother at second ends the inning.

UCSB now lead 2-1 to the bottom of the sixth.

Texas down in order in the sixth.

UCSB still leads 2-1 to the 7th.

Peters only gave up two hits and is on the line for the loss at the present. Both Santa Barbara runs came because of
Texas miscues though. Felts couldn't pick up the ball after a
strike out and McElroy with the low throw after Peters picks
a runner off.

The big lefty for UCSB walks Hall with two outs.

That is all for him and they bring in a right to face Stell.

Moynihan walks to put runners on first and second.
Another pitching change for UCSB a lefty to face Weis.

Weis slices a ground ball deep behind 3rd and the he beats
out the long two hop throw to tie it up at 2.

Payton K's on three pitches to end the inning.

Tied up at 2 now after 7 complete.

Hinojosa leads off with a single up the middle.

Silver in ph's for Moynihan to bunt most likely.
He gets it down and moves Hinojosa to second.
Felts singles up the middle, but Hinojosa holds up to see if
it gets through and is held at 3rd.
McElroy K's for out 2.
Marlow grounds out and we leave another stranded at third
with less than two outs.

Been frustrating today and still tied at 2 to the 9th.

Marlow retires the side in order again.
Shaw is in left now.

Tied at 2 to the bottom of 9 with a chance to win it.

Walk off win in the ninth, CJ with big two out hit to drive in Weiss and Horns win 3-2.

Got back in time to watch the ninth. Nice to get the win but wow a lot of missed opportunities in game that should have been a blowout if dont gift two runs and if could have knocked in all those runners in scoring position.

So tomorrow I will start the thread and leave after two or three innings, that seems to be the recipe.

With one out Shaw is on by a HBP.
Johnson comes in to run for him.
Weis grounds into 4-6 FC for the second out.
Payton walks and puts runners on first and second.
Hinojosa lines it down the right field line that falls in fair and
Texas wins 3-2!

Would have been a bad loss with all the mistakes and stranded runners.

But Hinojosa takes care of that with his second walk off hit
this season.
