Texas v. Notre Dame College World Series June 17, 2022

Hodo with four pitch walk and that chases Rao. ND bringing on their freshman who was so good last week in Knoxville.

Overall the brain fart and solo shot aside it was good night for Tristan he kept Texas in game. 4 and 2/3rds innings of work.

Ground out ends game. Horns lose 7-3.

Well, it just wasn’t Horns night. The nice thing about baseball is that one loss doesn’t end your year, but now every game is win or go home so Lucas Gordon will really have to step up Sunday against aggy.

ND pitching was too good tonight. They were
throwing first pitch strikes and ahead in the count against our hitters, keeping our guys off balance and guessing.
We’re not done yet. This team has fought back from behind a lot.
Hook ‘em!

Switch over to LHN to get your mind off the loss:

1981 UT vs. ou on a cloudy / cool day. Rick McIver was QB, stout UT D....I was there that day. Horns start slow but dominate second half and win easily.

Those two teams are a lot closer than the score. Near misses on what should have been base hits and a pitching edge was the difference. Surely the baseball gods won’t let the agricultural and mechanical trade schoolers win.

Gordon has been nails all year with the exception of last Saturday. If he steps up Sunday this season is far from over.
