No kidding. Big deal. You can't catch all the breaks and make every play every game all year. And this is just the game to get all the mistakes out of your system.
I agree FWHorn but, assuming the 'Horns don't pull this one out, I suspect we're going to have to root against Mizzou when they play Aggy tomorrow if the 'Horns want to get to the championship game, doesn't it? Painful. Very painful indeed (even for a meaningless tournament in the grand scheme of things).
Correction: All the 'Horns have to do is beat Aggy and Sand Aggy and have Mizzou lose to either of those two teams, thereby creating at least a 3-way tie. Under that scenario, the highest seed (i.e., the 'Horns) advances. (Whew! Thought I had to pull for Aggy tomorrow...)
Not a lot of patience at the plate today. If my count is right, only 2 BB (incl. Keyes this inning)...and no other 3 ball counts. MU has 7 walks. Ouch.
Shake it off, Horns, and come back tomorrow and pound sand aggy.
Yep Billygoat this will make 3 years in a row the Wed game was a loss for the Horns. If Texas can take the next two and so long as Mizzou loses to aggy tomorrow the Horns can still advance as the highest seed. If Mizzou beats aggy tomorrow Texas would be eliminated from the championship game.
The regular rotation starts up tomorrow, in the grand scheme this game isnt that important and if the Horns are playing 4 weeks from now will seem like a blip on the radar. The key is not letting 1 loss turn into two or stop the momentum going into the regionals next week.
My only concern about today is this: Milner's been pretty much lights out in relief this year -- I've had 100 percent confidence in him every time he's come into the game. Could his rough outing today have a negative effect on his psyche?
Disappointing loss. Horns sucked in just about every phase of their game. Let's hope it was a hang-over from the weekend sweep. I can live with an occasional letdown. Let's hope that we kick *** for the rest of the tournament and get some help. Don't want to leave the Big 12 tournament in a funk.
