Texas v. Central Arkansas March 22, 2022

I like how Keith and Swindell take the time to point out when the other team has good plays.
Totally agree, they're a class act. LHN and Horn haters won't ever be able to say they don't get a fair call from those guys. They're homers, but fair homers.

The Bears’ catcher sure has a strong arm…

First time Kennedy thrown out stealing all year.

Who do you think Pierce meant when said there were so more arms he wanted to see in more action?
Hard to say, but I think Johnson and Olivares may see more time. Johnson has good numbers in limited action.

Everybody knows Stewart is an ultra-high-ceiling talent—but I think he will be brought along slowly and steadily. He won’t start (I don’t think). Stewart has that phenomenal MLB breaking slider, and upper 90s fastball with movement, but needs to work on his control and consistency—and he will over time. He also needs to become a smarter pitcher. But I’m neither Pierce nor Allen, so we’ll see.

Skye Messinger with a 4 hit night. I say he’s long since left his slump behind. We’ll need his bat come conference play. He’s approaching the 300+ average we expected from a returning all Big 12 player.

He’ll get the post game interview. Glad to see him break out into what we knew he could be at the plate. The big Coloradan hits really well in the cold.

Messinger says he’s been working a lot at the park with Tulo (on his swing). He wanted to play somewhere where he could play in Omaha for the National title. That’s why he grad transferred to UT from KU. He grew up looking up to Tulo (Colorado Rockies)—working with Tulo is a “dream come true” for Skye.

Our lineup is looking STOUT going into conference play.
