Texas Track

Coach Flo is getting there, but aggy is still the first choice of sprinters and hurdlers as they have better facilities for sprinters and hurdlers (i.e. an indoor track - sprinters and hurdlers do not like cold wet weather).

Look at aggy's 4x100 and 4x400 results that 40 points add in at least 10 points in the 100, 200, 400, and 110 and 400 hurdles and that is another 50 points.

Having an indoor facility has nothing to do with it. They're in Texas, how often are they going to be experiencing cold, wet, weather? Oregon was get top notch sprinters/hurdlers before they had the new Hayward field facilities under the stadium that they do now. But with that being said, I think CDC mentioned that one thing that he wanted to try and do was to have an indoor football/track facility like tech has.

Note you said all they are now getting facilities. Why? From 10 years of upper-level sprint and hurdle experience, cold and wet weather inhibits training. Why do you think most Power 5 schools have indoor facilities?

It’s obvious that cold and wet weather inhibits training. But to suggest that recruits in a MOSTLY warm weather climate are picking a school based on the indoor facility isn’t true. If that were the case, then why isn’t tech or any school up north recruiting on the level of the aggies, lsu, etc?

Becasue they can train year round without worrying about weather. aggy and LSU have indoor facilities plus multiple NC's.

Sonya Richards-Ross announcing at the track for NBC at the Tokyo Olympics.

Great representation at the ULL football game by the T&F/XC

Yeah all athletic teams were there. They did a little announcement for the programs for winning the directors cup. I will say one of the best parts about Texas Athletics is all sports support eachother and attend games/matches

Today effort is how you put on a Show.Man I see some great times and jumps and throws.Team effort was Outstanding for the Women and the Mens.Still a little work too do.Like what happened with the last leg on the Men's Mile Relay. He look so nerves and drop the stick. And the 3rd leg on the Women's Relay. She got the stick and jogged out getting the stick and she had the lead.

Final day of B12 track and field championship for men and women. Texas is 3-4 points off the lead but with the bulk of the points being awarded late afternoon and early evening.

NCAA preliminaries and finals to come in next 4 weeks.

Both men and women leading in points with 3 events left. Men are rolling, women are struggling with long jump and triple jump. It’s why the women finished 2nd at the NCAA indoor championship.

Both men and women track finished the regional qualifications with many athletes going to the nationals. Looking good in terms of winning the national championships for both teams.
