yep, surprised about that. But I never thought of Chou as a PG, rather a wing. She was hitting the 3 during the Texas summer camp. Maybe the game plan did not call for her to do that or maybe she was having a tough day shooting.
Thanks for the review, flash. Always helpful to see what someone thinks after seeing a player in person. Hopefully, Plano West will make it to Austin.
Regarding Natalie Chou and my analysis from the Richardson game...........it is always risky to draw any long standing conclusions based on one game. A lot depends on match-ups, both team's strategy, etc. Regarding Chou's only shooting free throws and close to the basket, it was more of what that game called for. In Plano West's next game, she hit three-3s and again scored 20 points. She has wonderful shooting form and will more than likely be more of a REAL outside/medium range threat than I saw in that one game. In the regional finals game, I think she had 6 points in a real low score game but had a key late basket. So the real conclusion is that perhaps she does what it takes in a particular game. Free throws/in close in one game, outside shooting in a second game, and playing defense/passing/scoring at key point in game 3. And her team won all three games. ! I am looking forward to watching the State games to see how she does. And regardless if she becomes a Horn or not...........I really like her game. A real nice player.

Duncanville at 3pm and Manvel vs Plano West at 7pm should be good to watch as all three teams will have Texas signees/recruits. If it happens, Manvel’s post play vs Duncanville’s guard play should be one fine game.

Watched a bit of the Waco La Vega semi-final game online yesterday afternoon. That is a tremendous 3A team. 2015 Erin Degrate had 24 points and 13 rebounds, and is a physical presence down low. 2016 PG Calveion "Juicy" Landrum is spectacular in every way; at 5'9, she does everything at an extremely high level.
Moooooo, I agree with you that Calveion "Juicy" Landrum from Waco La Vega is an amazing point guard! She's very exciting to watch. DeGrate is definitely a physical specimen.
Duncanville and Manvel won on Friday; will meet tonight at 8:30 PM for 5A championship. I didn't get to watch Duncanville, but Tasia Foman ended up with 28 points; Ariel Atkins had 18 points. For anyone that watched it, how was Tasia scoring? That was the biggest scoring output I've seen from her.
First time watching Jordan Hosey and Manvel play. She has a very long and lean physique; kind of wiry and lanky, but has great body control; great jumping ability, and quick enough to finish on the break. I can't honestly think of which player she reminds me, but I get the feeling she has a lot growth left in her game. She finished with a double double last night:
Great 5-1 final. The future looks bright. Atkins was fantastic. Hosey also great. Reserving judgment on Foman. Duncanville really blew it by not being able to pull back on their pressure defense according to the needs of the situation. Aggressive pressure defense has to be tempered with judgment. I guess they haven't had any experience of it not working before. The game was in grave peril when Atkins got her fifth foul, the only real mistake she made all night, but it was a severe one.
