Texas @ OU 02/25/2023

Wow! A very satisfying road victory. I can't imagine Vic will find much to nitpic, but can't wait for the presser.

We get to do it all over again Monday.

Now that was toughness and Texas Fight. We had 5 in double figures and they played on a string honestly the most together/complete game I’ve seen this year in my eyes. This passes the eye test for the committee we need a good showing on Monday as well. I think the ladies played exceptional didn’t let little stuff effect them stayed in the moment and 3 guards playing 40 mins well Holle played 39 but yea they could be turning a page. #ScaryHours

I don’t think I’ve ever heard Vic so excited and happy in a postgame interview. He sounded like he was breaking up a little with a tear or two. But how can he not be happy with holding OU to 45 points after they’ve averaged 90 the past five games and 86 on the season? He said they played their hearts out tonight. :ousucksnana:

Win one of the last two and it’s a regular season championship. Let’s go ahead and do that against Baylor Monday night. :yippee:

Sooners simply don't match well against UT.
Curious to see how they do in the tournament.

Ok lite worries me more in the little XII tournament.

Wife tells me this morning that she committed us to go to a winery in Fredericksburg with friends today. Not happy about that, but then I remembered when I don’t watch us play on a tough road game, we always win. Works 100% of the time. I just didn’t expect what looks like it was an absolute ***-whoppin’. Can’t wait to see this game! Vic has really done something with the team he has. Win two more and we’ve got our first reg. season conf. Championship in 20 years.

Easily our best game of the season with the win in Austin being a close second. Hats off to Vic and the players being 100% ready to play. OU averages 86.7 points per game and we held them to 45 which is 13 points better than the 58 we held them to in Austin.

Loved that Vic took a shot at the refs in his radio postgame stating that he was tired of us getting penalized simply for being big.
:bevo:

:ousucks:

Now I can exhale. I thought we’d win - but never thought we’d win by 20.
Now let’s do the same thing Monday night.
We’ve had OU’s number this year in all sports. Hmm, maybe softball is next.

My goodness, these gals have just played their hearts out and have really acquitted themselves without Sonya. No way I thought they would win by 20 again. And Shay, thanks for lighting it up in the 3rd quarter!:cow:

It was hard for me to "expect" a win on the road in a game basically for the regular season crown if Sonya Morris wasn't gonna play. But, this team dug deep without her. Shay Holle played like the upperclassmen she is!

Watched the second half after Spectrum got its problems fixed. What a great game from our team. Looking at the final score, one might think it was an easy win. Not so. At any time, well into the fourth, OU could have gone on a run to come back if the Horns had let up on the defense and let OU get some rhythm on offense. The Horns did not do it. They stayed strong. 40 minutes from each starting guard!

Just gonna enjoy this win. Not gonna look past this win yet because it was so sweet. Tomorrow, I can look forward to our next game. But, this win today is worth enjoying for at least 24 hours.

And, shoutout to DeYona for 12 points and 11 rebounds. That's a great stat line for her.

For those interested, here's the link to the OU post game press conference. Coach Baranczyk gave an honest assessment and was complimentary of Texas.

Sooners Postgame vs Texas
I hate to say it, but the OU coach and team are classy in their loss. Imagine if sea witch was hosting a post gamer presser and we'd beat them by 20+. Our cheeks would be blistered with backhanded compliments.

Damnit ... It's starting to get hard to despise ou the way God intended.

And Shae's defense on Taylor Robertson the entire game was stellar!
