Well... let's get this thing started. Contrary to the last road game at ISU, I don't have a feel for this one. Will we have Sonya? Will we finally step up and put a full road game together as the team we're capable of being and sweep the Sooners? Will all the fifth-year seniors for OU who have experienced very little success be more hungry and prevail in front of their own packed house? I can't call it... but I do feel it's going to be a big task for us, and we'll be required to play our best basketball of the season so far to get a win.

Those OU grandmother students who have stuck around for a 32nd season want this bad. We need to repeat the beat down we gave them in Austin.

Important notes from last years' game in Norman (also an early Saturday afternoon start):
(1). Only 3,315 fans turned out. But they still got loud, particularly at the end when it mattered.
(2). This was our teams' first experience with Jennie Baranczyk's style of play. Even in a loss, we kept them well below their scoring average.
(3). OU led at the half 36-33. We led after the 3rd, 51-48, thanks to one of Rori's running circus 3-pt shots at the buzzer. But we ended up losing 65-63 on what I thought were some questionable calls. If I remember correctly, Vic went ape-Sh*t at one point, and got T'd up, basically costing us 4 or 5 points. Blair and Elena may have to put him on a real tight leash this Saturday.
Game was tied with under 10 seconds left and OU having possession. JAT took what looked like a good charge on a Liz Scott drive down the lane, but the ref called a block and the basket was good, so an "and 1" resulted. Even with all that BS, we still had a shot to win it, but Rori's 3pt attempt bounced off the front of the rim.

Some of the Video highlights/lowlights of that game can be seen here:

Texas vs. Oklahoma - Women's College Basketball Game Summary - January 29, 2022 | ESPN

After this game, we've faced them at our place twice and spanked their little behinds.

Really would help to have Sonya Morris back soon to help stretch the floor. Amina Muhammad was outstanding defensively on Madi Williams last time so hopefully we can defend her again well.

This game could be for all the marbles, right? If Texas beats OU and wins one of the last two the regular season title goes to the Longhorns by virtue of holding the tiebreaker over the Grandmas of Suckage U.

I'm convinced OU will lose their last game of the season at OSU. I saw the first game and OSU controlled it through 3 qtrs, but then let it slip away. I don't think they'll do that again at their own home court.

I have found that it is hard to overestimate how predictably and thoroughly OSU craps the bed during Bedlam games, no matter the sport, no matter the stakes. Therefore I would really hate to be in a position where we need to rely on OSU beating the Soonerettes.

Vic obviously had a presser more than 4 1/2 hrs ago and the athletic dept. still hasn't posted it. Yet they have posted a lunchtime media availability with Timmy Allen two hours ago. There have been a couple of times this year where they never posted Vic's "prior to the weekend" presser. Very annoying considering the game is tomorrow.

I hope they can match the defensive intensity that showed last week. I was especially impressed with Hadi Faye and Taylor Jones both making blocks on two WV fast breaks. I watched Betts for Stanford last week, and she is very good in the paint, but seemed very slow running down the court.

Love it.

I hate calls like that. In no other sport can you just deliberately jump/ram right into someone else and have people seriously think it's reasonable to call that other person for a foul.

Good news. Sonya is shown in the 6th photo of the morning shoot-around in Norman. However, it’s still up in the air if she will get any minutes today.

These “homer” announcers are the best in the B12 excluding Andrea Lloyd

no bias at all towards their team

the amount of praise and respect Chad McKay(younger announcer) is giving us is admirable.

We will win this game. I can feel it. I’m also a couple whiskeys deep and could be wrong. Just seems like our defense is going to outlast their offense.

Team looks locked in just need to have better offensive rotations and offense in general and for a ****** defensive team OU looks pretty good on that end as well.

such a fun game to be watching. I love this team. I really feel we have turned a corner from the WVU game onwards.

Promising to be a close game. We need to spread our scoring out among the team.
Also need to be making hay while blow u is cold from three

OU missed some open shots they normally make and we are only up 4. That’s concerning. Better come out this first 5 and get some cushion before the shots start falling.

Looks like I may have been a bit off.
Our D continues to be the trademark for this team

Yeah... but they also usually aren't facing the frenetic defensive energy that they were facing today. We never let them get into it really.
