Texas @ OU 01/02/2025

I think we're all probably familiar with Oklahoma, but here's a link to their season stats.

Everyone on that team has the green light. Beers is going to give our bigs their toughest challenge to date. She can hit outside and is a bear inside.
I believe before their last game they were in the top 2 or 3 in the nation in rebounding.
They beat us down the court numerious times last year and they are even faster this year.
Rio Grande beat us over the top 4-5 times yesterday and thats the okies specialty.
Have to tighten that up.
Can't afford stretches of stagnant offense and cold shooting.

Fortunately our defense travels well.
Would be sweet to steal one at their place.

Nine of Texas' conference games are against ranked opponents. Unfortunately, in the SEC, the time of only having one or two wins against ranked opponents prior to the NCAAW tournament is a thing of the past. Texas will need to knock off many of them in order to be in the scheme of things come March. Would love for them to button up their britches and start that against OK.

It doesn't seem right only playing in Norman this year. Not that I'm sure we'll lose, but we may see them again in the tourney.

And I certainly wasn't happy Beers signed with blowu. It's going to be like going against a giant hippopotamus. She could get both Jones and Oldacre in foul trouble. If they can just contain her and Texas can guard the 3, we have a chance.

We had to slow down without Rori last year especially in the first matchup with Booker learning a new position. Except for a really horrible call by the ref in the second meeting, we would have split with them last year.

This is going to be a really good game and the outcome is anyone’s guess.

I get why the SEC did the schedule the way they did, but playing OU just once in our opening conference game and then not again the rest of the year? I don't like that.

They should have offered an opportunity for pairs of teams, if both schools agree, to be yearly fixed home-and-home opponents. Either that or just fixed pairs of permanent opponents for everyone.

Men's basketball was able to do 18 conference games for the sake of rivalries, so why do the ladies have to be capped at 16?

What I don't understand, is why not just everybody play each other once? At least you have a balanced schedule like that even though there are no home and home games.

Is that not what they did? Who do we not play?
You play everybody once, and then one team twice. Why??? You have an unbalanced conference schedule when everybody doesn't play one another the same amount of times. I'd rather each team play one another once for a total of 15 conference games, leaving room for another non-conference game.

Got ya. I misunderstood. Thought you were implying our second game against south Carolina took the place of another SEC opponent we didn’t play and I was like, huh?

But yeah I get you. One two times does seem odd. I also wonder why we couldn’t do what the men do.
