Sounds like you didn't know how good you had it.but was so pissed I think the next concert I saw was Elvis
He could nearly make you cry when he sang a sad song. All of them pale compared to Possum.
Here he is (probably well into his 40s at this point):Chop,
The Stones doing Waylon may be the best thing you've ever posted
Here he is (probably well into his 40s at this point):
Bob Wills himself on the 1st fiddle, and that steel guitarist, wow!
I think about 1/2 his band members were typically Texans with many of the others from the Tulsa, Oklahoma area.
I'm glad he did. He was the force that brought a struggling songwriter from Abbott back to Texas. The rest is history.Waylon told Nashville to go to hell
Freddie Fender…actually “Freddy Fender,” San Benito, TxSpeaking of which, if you want a Tejano musician on your mountain, skip Selena and put Flaco Jimenez up there!
Indeed, but if there was a REAL Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, it would be filled with his disciples. I dare say that no other artist had greater influence on more "great musicians" than Charles Hardin Holley. I'm sure someone would have eventually come up with multi-track recording (probably Bill Lear), but he was the first.Buddy Holly was in a class by himself.
I got introduced to his music in the early 70s by my dad, who was a huge fan. He always said had he lived, he would have been bigger than Elvis. Still stop everything and listen when one of his songs comes up.Buddy Holly was in a class by himself.
