Well it looks like Michigan State decided not to show up tonight so we get a 1/2 matchup with Memphis Sunday. I am just not scared of Memphis like alot of you are. They are good but definately beatable. If we play like we did the last 10 minutes of the game we will beat them. The DJ/Derek Rose and Mason/Douglas-Roberts matchups will be fun to watch! Atchley and James should be able to take Dozier away from the basket to open up the inside. I think we play a primary zone like Miss St. did against Memphis. As long as we rebound well, their inside guys are good but not as skilled as the Lopez girls were.

A freaking Tennessee team who we ran out of the gym and just got run out of the gym by Louisville beat them at home. Like I said they are good but I think we win. Of all the 1 seeds to play in Houston, this is the one I'd want to play for a shot at the final 4. Show some confidence in our year, our schedule, and in our team. We WILL win this game people!!
 
what are the odds that a team like memphis can put together another half like this first half? i doubt they put 50 up on us and i doubt they hold us to 20. it should be a good game.
 
I honestly can't figure out whether Memphis really is this good, or if Michigan State really is this horrible. Probably a combination of both. We are definitely gonna have to bring our A+++ game when we presumably play Memphis on Sunday.
 
Play smart, don't try to get into a shootout with them, make them run their half-court offense. And if it's close toward the end of the game, put their sorry butts on the free-throw line. Yes, they're playing well right now, but they're beatable.
 
I thought we had a chance. Now I know we don't. There's no shame in losing to supermen. The main thing is to keep it within twenty and not get embarrassed.
 
I am no basketball wizard, but I think the Horns are peaking at the right time & really hungry. Barnes will have maximum focusness & ready to play like he did tonight vs.Tree. Memphis is tough and the Horns will need to be solid and play well to win, but I think tiggers can be beaten by the Horns

Texas's defense is demonstrably better now than it was when they lost to Michigan State and Wisconsin.

They are going to be able to put out some bodies with the big guys. It's doing something about Rose and CDR that is going to be the test.
 
Like I said Memphis has some athletic powerful big guys in Dozier and Dorsey but they are not as skilled scoring wise as the Lopez twin, especially Brooke. We need to play an effective zone like Mississippi State did and as long as we have a good day shooting from the outside, hold on our on the boards, and shoot free throws well, we will right in the game down the stretch with a good chance to win.
 
Memphis does not shoot the three well.

We know about their struggles from the free throw line.

Aside from Rose and CDR, they have no one who can break down a defense or shoot a three over a zone.

Texas is playing, for all intents and purposes, a home game for the right to go to the Final Four.

Texas' defense has been its calling card since January.

It is 1000X easier to slow a team down than it is to speed one up.

Memphis is athletic as hell and can score in bunches. But these factors remain.

mich st sucked last night. i think memphis shot their wad. you punch them in the mouth once and they are done. they are very talented but like someone said all we need to do is match their physical play, rebound and shoot the ball pretty well.

i watched them against UTA and Miss St. They are good on offense but not great on defense. stopping them is hard, but scoring on them isn't.
 
Woke up in a cold sweat from nightmarish visions of breakaway 360 reverse double pump backboard shattering dunks. Terrible, just terrible.
