Texas Colorado Replay

I was at that game and it was probably the most raucous UT game I've been to (I wasn't at the '90 Houston game which I've heard was crazy also). The '98 Aggy game with Ricky setting the record was probably second. Seemed like the whole stadium was yelling and stomping on the bleachers. I honestly don't know why people don't do that anymore as it seemed to generate a hell of a lot of noise. I've tried to do it at other more recent games and absolutely no one else chimes in.

The end result of that game still pisses me off.

Is that Mad Dog on the sideline for Colorado? If not then CU in 1990 had a huge black guy that looks just like him on the staff.

The 2 best games in this series were both played in Houston, imo. The 1975 Bluebonnet bowl with the second half surge led by Earl and Tim Campbell was great. But the classic was the 2005 conference CG of course. They should replay those games!

I was at the Dome in 1975. Hell of a comeback.

Of course, that means I'm old.

I was at the 1990 game. There was a lot of electricity in Austin that night, even before the game.

Texas was coming off a terrible 1989 season, but the Horns won the season opener at Penn State. In came Colorado, who was 1-1-1 but still considered a powerhouse team. CU lost the week before to Mackovic's Illinois team. CU had dominated us in previous matchups in Boulder.

I remember Texas was the benefit of some CU fumbles, as well as a surprise on-sides kick in the 3rd quarter. I believe Texas took that gift and scored a TD just a few plays later. After that, the place was going crazy. The good old boys sitting near my dad and I went from quiet and stoic at the start, to stomping around on the bleachers and going crazy in the second half.

It's a real shame we couldn't hang on and win that game. As I recall, CU got ahead late, 27-22, and then tacked on a safety at the very end. 29-22 final. The Buffs moved to 2-1-1 on the year, wouldn't lose another game, and were eventually crowned National Champions.

only been to 2 ut-col games. '75 christmas leave from navy, and ccg. I guess I got lucky and picked 2 good ones. Of course I've only to to2 ut-ark games. 2002 and last week. not so lucky...
