The bats have shown some signs of life since late in the previous game. But, still very concerned about batting. If we could score even one more run per game, we would be unbeatable, considering the way we pitch. The pitching has stayed nasty all the way through. 0.77 ERA in the last 5 games, I believe (1.96 for the season so far).
^^^ The only bad pitching game out of 13 so far by us. In the other 12 games, our pitching has given up just 14 earned runs for something like a 1.30 ERA....
Of course, if we make 5 errors in a game and give up 6 unearned runs like in that 0-7 loss in the first game at Cal, no amount of pitching will help
I was speaking of getting the opponents ERA up from 3.3 to around 4, or our own runs/game up from 4.4 to about 5.4. We would win some key games if we can do that. It remains to be seen if the bats would wake up.
